If the Santa minifig is removed, does the 'sing' part still happen in-flight?
Yeas of course. The Lego minifig is just a piece of plastic. The circuit board inside the drone is what carries the speaker.

Thanks bought two for xmas day drone fighting, will be a fun 3 minutes before they break anyway :D
Just an FYI this drone is programmed to 'sing' "We wish you a merry christmas" on a loop while the drone is flying. The Santa lego minifig can also be removed to decrease the payload weight and increase flight duration.
