Driving Offence - Penalty Notice for Not Giving Way to The Vehicle on The Right

A female driver over 7 yrs of driving history has been issued FIRST penalty notice for not giving way to the vehicle on the right.

Is a request for leniency worth on the basis of good driving history and it being a first offence since driving?

Thanks.

  • As always with these things, never hurts to try. The worst that can happen is that you have to pay the penalty…. which is what you're looking at if you didn't appeal for leniency.

What does being female have to do with it?

I think you need 10 years good history.

It means it's a miracle it wasn't worse.

See, you were supposed to use this to your advantage when you got pulled over by flirting with the cop, not after the fact when you're writing a letter to some miserable desk jockey who couldn't give a flying F if you gender identified as an attack helicoptor.

      triggered

      Now see here!!

I sexually identify as a miserable desk jockey and I'll have you know that if I came across a request for leniency from an attack helicopter I'd grant it without a second thought!

        TRIGGERED!

I sexually identify as an attack helicopter and by no means do I wanted to be treated differently to anyone else. I’m sick of being treated with leniency because of my sexuality. I just wanted to be treated equally!

Oh now you want to play that card….. What happened to equal rights!?

Anyhow, you can always TRY… the worse they'll say is no and you pay the fine.

    Lol at female driver.

Can you give more context to what your offense was, I'm not aware of any that refer to not giving way to the right, although I know a lot of people think this is the rule for round abouts.

Pay the fine, this isn’t worth a forum post.

The driver in car A has been fined for not giving way to the car B as B had to brake hard. Thanks.

So what you're saying, is that after 7 years, she can't drive…?

If she pulled out on a car, and only narrowly avoided an accident, she should be lucky she only got fined (which I'm assuming only happened because a cop witnessed it, or the driver had a dashcam).

Please get her to re-read the road rules and familiarise herself with them.

The distance between car A and B was more than shown. Used Googleimage for convenience.

You just said that car B had to brake hard. Therefore there was not a sufficient gap. You drove dangerously. Take the fine and be happy you didn't cause a crash.

But not sufficient, hence the fine.

If it ain't posts about having no insurance after an accident then it's posts about nearly/potentially causing an accident but trying to get out of the penalty..

I am a male but if being females gives me a benefit at court I'll be female at court

  • I love how the focus in this thread has mostly been about the playing of the female card, like it makes any difference. You want equality? Pay the fine.

What I am staggered at is the amount of posts on this forum that ask how to get off a fine even though you’re in the wrong. If you’re in the wrong, pay the fine. It’s a tax on stupidity and inattentivness. It could have been a truck or worse still, a bike that “she” pulled out in front of. Think yourself (themselves) lucky it was just a fine and use it as a wake up call.

  • Pay the fine or court

You will not get off by appealing.

    Assuming this is in NSW.
