My Philips Aquatouch AT891 will no longer operate for more than a few seconds, and then stops as the "change shaving head" light flashes.
The manual says it will need changing after two years, but since it is still working well enough, I am annoyed that it is forcing me to spend $50 on a shaver that was only $100 new to keep it working. It also gives instructions for resetting the machine after changing the shaving head, which I have done (without changing the shaver head, but it some how seems to know that I haven't really changed it and goes back into the warning mode.)
Chances are, if I was to spend that money, the battery or some other part of the appliance could soon stop working, so I'd be better off just putting the money into a new machine. I could get a better one for around $100.
I would rather drive this existing model into the ground until it dies or stops working, rather than be forced to throw away a machine that is currently working to my satisfaction.
All part of our throw away society I guess!
