Please Recommend Me a Reliable and Not Too Expensive Carpet Shampooer / Steam Cleaner

Hello ,

Could you please recommend me reliable carpet shampooer or steam cleaner ?

I have a little baby and living in rental apartment which has carpets everywhere. Our little one started to crawl and I would like to steam clean carpet often. Used professional cleaning companies couple times before but would prefer do it myself so was thinking to invest in carpet shampooer or steam cleaner. Was planning to buy Wertheim but wasn't very convinced by mixed reviews.

Can you please recommend a good product if you own one ?

  How often is often? What is your budget? I recently hired the Britax one from Woolies…wasn't too bad…just bloody loud and pretty bulky. But all it does is spray the cleaning liquid out then vacuum it up? You can buy one for $1500 apparently.

    Probably once every 2-3 months. I would say 300-400 max. Yes I was thinking about that too but we live on top floor and have no lift. Would prefer to buy my own but not for $1500 :)

  We bought a Vax cleaner for about $300 and it's fabulous.

      It's call Rapide Ultimate, we've had it a couple of years so it may be called something different now. It is like an upright vacuum cleaner but has a water chamber for steam clean.
