MIUI 9 Global Stable ROM available now for Redmi Note 4X (MIUI 9.0.3.0)

Found out today when I decided to check for updates. Settings > Scroll all the way down to About phone > Click on System updates at the bottom.

    If for some odd reason you can't receive the update via the updater app, you can do the following to get the MIUI 9 Stable ROM:

    1. Download the full rom package from here
    2. Plug in your phone via USB and create a folder called 'downloaded_rom' in its internal storage
    3. Copy and paste the zip file from step 1 in this folder
    4. Unplug your device and go back to the updater app
    5. Click on the 3 dots on top and select 'choose update package'
    6. Find and select the rom you downloaded and the updater app should do it's work

    You do not need to unlock your bootloader or have root access to do this. Always remember to backup your data and files before attempting this just to be on the safe side.

    Edit: You may need to be on the latest update prior to this new one for this to work

        Yep mine isn't either, have been using this method for switching between the developer and stable rom :)

    Mine (4X 4gb 64) upgraded to 8.5.3 from 8.5.1. Should I do the thing that you mentioned and add the folder, download from your link?

      Is it a 4X or a Note 4X? AFAIK they are rolling out OTA updates for a few models atm but not sure about the individual release dates. This is just for the Global ROM Note 4X.

          That's odd did you try

          Settings > Scroll all the way down to About phone > Click on System updates at the bottom.

          If that does't work then defo check and see if your MIUI ROM is official (no OTA updates for unofficial MIUI ROM).

          See my previous post re… The other day it would upgrade but only from 8.5.1 to 8.5.3

          Hence my original question as to whether I should use stuhtb's link, or wait for Xiaomi…??

          My phone isn't rooted

          Mine is the Snapdragon international version btw not Helio which I think is the Chinese variant. Maybe that's the issue. Anyways you could try what stuhtb has suggested but defo make a backup up first just to be on the safe side.

          Also here's a bit more info on the update. Hope everything goes well for ya. May the force be with you :)

          34deg in Adelaide yesterday, the phone was literally too hot to hold. One of the reasons why the helio is unpopular, I believe. Thought I had done my research… Not enough.

          Im eventually going to have to learn how to root/flash if I want the force to truly be with me (and my phone to work properly)

    Split screen seems to work quite well no issues thus far. Not sure if it's just me but the camera seems to have improved as well? Also noticed you can take photos with the finger print sensor not sure if that's a new feature or what tho. Quick ball has been pretty handy as well. Haven't noticed any issues with battery or performance for the time being. Overall good stuff especially split screen cheers Xiaomi :)
