I live outside AU and my IP address is from Europe.
Is it possible to use coupons that are valid only for people from AU?
I tried the following methods, but did not work:

Well there is your problem…. So you're trying to use a AU promo shipping to a non AU address….. !

But people advise many times here to use proxy to cheat. But why would you need AU proxy if you live in AU and you have AU shipping address? I dont see the point.
In any other case the proxy cheat method is useless.

It will depend on the system, it can be multi checks to verify your location. Sometimes just IP based, sometimes just shipping address based. Sometimes both. Sometimes it checks credit card issuer too.
Maybe these people are ordering from outside of AU but shipping to AU still?
Many people use a proxy to 'cheat' location-based stuff, like catchup tv apps etc.
