Where Can I Get This Key Cut?

https://www.google.com.au/imgres?imgurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ric…

Was wondering my key's plastic bit has cracked. It's still working fine but it's quite sharp and it's cut me a few times.
I've ordered a spare case from the internet. It's arrived but I'm trying to look for a place that can cut my key. But I've visited a few key places and they all say they can't do it.

What do I need to. Do?

Thanks in advance

  • But I've visited a few key places and they all say they can't do it.

If anyone is going to know where your can cut those keys, it'll most likely be the key cutting places you've been to. They should be able to tell you where to go.

Alternatively, have you tried looking to see how the plastic joins the metal? It might just be a screw and plastic attachment. ie, putting together the old metal and new plastic.

Have you looked for an Auto Locksmith in your state?

Rather than just any old Locksmith or key cutting service.

The RAC in your state should be able to tell you who can do them?

    just like the image says
    "Locksmith Staten Island"

  • With my holden ones, you unscrew the cover, take the electronics and key out, put it in the new case, and then screw back together.

    No key cutting required

  • You'll need to find a locksmith that does laser key cutting in your area since its not the same process as cutting a conventional key. It'll likely be more than you paid for the case, I had to get a Cruze key blade laser cut and it cost about $30.

  • I have a VE 2008 just had MisterMinit sell me a new cover for my key (3 buttons on one side and alarm on other side) $50

  • There is a locksmith at the Laverton (Victoria) Market that may be able to help.

Put some black tape on it first. That will stop the cutting problem.

For a more permanent solution, go to a locksmith.
