  • noise cancelling ? qc35 v2 … ohh wait… over your budget

    maybe qc25 ?

if no need for noise cancelling, then go for alessandro ms1

    • Thanks for the help

Do not get the MS1. Great headphones, but totally unsuitable for your needs. They are open, which in this case means that you will hear every hum from the plane, and everyone around you will hear whatever you're listening to. M50x are decent. Took a pair to Singapore recently. Very comfortable, and isolating enough to block out a lot of noise.

Audio-Technica ATH-M50x. They look good, sound good and are reasonably comfortable. Not noise canceling but they do block out a lot of outside noise

    • thank you

  • Are you open to IEMs?

ALDI have these $39 noise-cancelling headphones for sale starting this Saturday: https://www.aldi.com.au/en/special-buys/special-buys-sat-11-…

Probably rubbish but you could buy 5 within your budget!

  • I must be the only one who loves the sound of an airplane hum.

    • what about crying babies ?

  • As already said, I'd go for the ATH-M50x.

    Some other options:

Sony MDR-1A (sometimes can be found for under $200)

Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO (32ohm, you'll need an amp for the 80ohm and above)

Sony MDRV6 / MDR-7506 (being studio cans the cords are coiled and pretty long, probably not ideal for portability)

Sennheiser HD 280 (again, long cord)
