Cant think of where to go for a short 7-10 day break.
Europe is a bit too far for such a short trip so wouldn't be cost effective.
Just for my GF and myself from Sydney
I traveled to Japan, China and korea earlier this year so doubt we'd go there again so soon.

Try the great barrier reef, or even try a cruise!!
Too hot up north this time of year; save the reef for winter.
I actually have been through most of Aus incl the reef.
Went to Bali over last X-mas and had a great time!
South Island - NZ.
Id like to go to NZ but flights are super exp over Christmas
Tasmania - hopefully some cooler weather than Syd!
