Purchased New Huawei Phone from JB Hi-Fi - Back up Feature Doesn't Work - Return Am I within My Rights?

So I just bought the new Huawei Move 2i yesterday from JB Hi-Fi and the back up feature does not work in my country?
That being the cloud feature to back up and it says not available in your registered country.
Sure that means the phone is an import?

Where do I stand on returning?
Don't need a refund but would exchange.

Do the settings for the backup feature / app allow you to change location?

Very unlikely JB are selling a grey import

    • The phone has lots of countries to choose buy Australia is not one.

      • JB can't sell grey imports

  • Will be 100% fine, especially if you're only asking for an exchange

  • So when I go to register a phone number on Huawei I.D it dies not allow Australia.also cloud us not available in the country/region your Huawei I'd is registered,

  • It's the same when setting the country in a Xiaomi phone. Plenty of small regions but no Australia.

  • Yes but I did not buy in Australia to have this issue otherwise I would of just imported.

Have you spoke to Huawei Support yet to confirm you definitely cant?

  • No I have not.going to see what Jb hi-fi say.

Take the phone in and show them what the issue is. It would be odd for JB to sell a phone that doesn't work properly in Australia. If they can't fix the issue I'm sure they would take the phone back.

  • Op, are you using a vpn?

  • No vpn

  • Is the sim card Australian?
