Will This Feature Phone Work in Australia?

TL:DR

My husband broke his mobile and really doesn't want to buy another fancy phone because he uses it for phone calls 80% & SMS 20% of the time and has zero interest getting online. He also wants long battery life. I've tried talking to Telstra operators but they can't access the links and got confused when it was a no-name phone. I've also gone to Whirlpool, followed the links and have just confused myself because I'm going backwards looking for the minimum specs to be able to connect with.

I'm loving these phones because the multiple SIMs make it easy when doing mystery shopping phone calls and you need a unique phone number per campaign.

Thanks for your help.

I dont think so- they only have 2g support and I'm pretty sure 2g has been switched off for 3g/4g now

    • Thanks for the confirmation. I was hoping the GSMs would be enough. That's progress. :)

GSM means the mobile standard that uses SIM cards. It can then use different spectrum standards on top, like 3G or LTE.
No 2g services are left in oz.
My parents recently got free replacement feature phones from Vodafone, so there will be cheap and cheerful local options. I would get one from the supermarket, personally.

Check the capability of the second sim also. While some may be 4g capable with the main sim the second may only be 2g.
