$162 cheaper actually: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/339242
Any reason for it being so much better? I was about to grab the Samsung, but keen on what you have to say.
Local dimming and Wide Colour Gammut and probably a brighter screen. Don’t think the 6 series has any of these, the hisense would compare to a 8 series I think.
is this one curved ?
You can get the curved one for the same price from TGG (using code):
Does anybody have good experience buying Samsung TVs in the past 5 years? We had 2 Samsung TVs just go bust in the past 7 years and a friend had a similar experience. On the other hand, my brother has a 10 year old Samsung TV that still works fine. I guess they don't make it to last more than 3 years now. Better get a Kogan or Hisense for half the price ye? Personally I would never ever recommend any Samsung product to anybody.
Hrmmmm i wonder how mine will fair… so far so good with the KU6000

According to the new consumer law if not too long out of warranty you can call them up to fix it.
Few years ago I have a black line on the right hand side of my 60" Samsung TV and it was out of warranty and Samsung came and replaced the panel for me free.

It can be years outside of warranty and Samsung will honour it. Even though they only offer a 1 year warranty, you'll be fine anywhere up to about 5 years I'd say. Plenty of people have had full refunds on TV's which break far outside of the statutory 1 year warranty period.
Samsung are apparently one of the best to deal with, my sister had her F8000 break about 6 months ago and Samsung couldn't fix it, so gave them a full refund of the purchase price and it was about 4.5 years old at that stage.
My 3-year-old 55” is still going strong (touch wood)
Wouldnt mind going with Samsung again, though next one is likely to be a 75” Hisense or 65” OLED if it hits low 3k
Cheaper at good guys possibly even cheaper on their ebay store with the 20% off
