The one s has video playback at 4k but can't play games at 4k, whereas the one x plays games in native 4k.

Sadly not, often these deals are set by the vendor and cannot be substituted.
You sure? I just called up and he said its possible to swap things around, such as for a controller, but impossible to remove a game to lowering the price.

It certainly is, you can also add an external hard drive later on if you need extra space.

There will be a Xbox One X released on the 7th November, which will be 6 times more powerful in GPU TFlops power. That will be $650. Whereas the One S is still a good deal, if you are happy to play on lower hardware.

If someone is asking if its the latest model I think they want to know if there's anything releasing soon. Even an Apple employee would tell customers there's an iPhone X within a week if a customer asked.

500 gig is good for the short term
Cod takes up 45gig and assassins creed takes up 40 with the system os and stuff 100 gig is already gone and that's not including any future patches and dlc

Xb1X isn't worth it at launch imo, similar to the ps4 pro its not a massive leap forwards and it's not worth the high pricing as a result.

Why is the focus purely on exclusives? No, Halo, Forza, Gears of War, Cuphead and PUBG are not the 'only' games you have to play. The majority of games on both consoles are 3rd party and they will play and look the best on Xbox One X. Period. Throw in all the backwards compatible Xbox and Xbox 360 titles, and that is enough for a lot of people.
In other words the best combination would be to have an Xbox One X as the main console and a PS4 just for the exclusives. And no, I'm not including PC because PC is for a completely different audience. There's nothing worse than PC elitists trying to convince others that you're stupid if you prefer consoles. Many people, myself included, prefer consoles and there are perfectly legitimate reasons to do so—ease of use, accessibility, convenience, sociability, comfort—just to name a few.

The MINORITY of PC gamers would spit in the general direction of consoles and for the most part it is just a meme that people spout, with PC's you need to take into account most new games are cheaper when first released or completely free if you have the knowledge to torrent, it will also function as your end all be all media device if you know how to stream or torrent which saves you $50-$62 a month if you're stupid enough to support foxtel or netflix and if you really wanna compare PC and console there is no way to dispute that PC will always come out on top for both hardware, performance, optimisation, game catalogue etc.
Just for the sake of the conversation I have the Forza Motorsport edition of the XBOX which I picked up second hand for $250 almost 2 years ago and the PS4 Pro ($400 at the start of the year thanks to OZB) before that I was PC only, having said that I played Ps1-Ps2 and had a chipped original XBOX which probably saved the parents thousands.

When are the release dates for these? I was about to buy a pro last week but the problem is none of these games have firm release dates. Last of us doesnt even have a vague release date yet.

Thanks all - i used to be right across gaming (two decades ago :) ), I was a Original NES kid, when sega megadrive came out we all drooled.. You can guess my vintage.
We have decided on Xbox because that's what most of my kid's friends have - so if they want to play against each other - you need the same console.
I am not fussed with all the 4k stuff or the extra power - my kids are 9, 7 and 4 - so something that can play some family friendly stuff will be cool
By the time they get to teenagers (and beyond) etc - then maybe we look at something else.

I don't get it, I can get the new upgraded third gen xbox (xbox one s) cheaper than the ps4 original, AND the two latest AAA games. I would of bought a PS4 but this difference is just aggravating.

I just bought it, it only worked about 15 minutes ago, you have to add COD separately after you select the assassin creed bundle xbox.
@mKilic: I went in my local JB store and bought over the counter. They were out of stock for the Assassin's Creed digital token, COD WII disc was duly provided. I'm a gaming noob (buying this primarily for UHD movies playback, gaming a bonus), prefer racing games anyway. Agreed to swap the token to highly rated Forza Horizon 3, walked away as a happy customer :) Got further 5% discount on jbhifi gift cards via work staff club membership, so full deal for $284 :)
@aaruu: yeh I didn't buy this to game on, already have a gaming pc and ps4,bought it for playback, too, works out cheaper than most UHD players so it was a great pick, especially considering that cod and assassins creed both go for about 140ish, it seemed very cheap. I had it delivered though, didn't really have time to walk in to a store, I ended up paying $310 overall.

I'm tempted to grab this as I'm interested in both games and I'd like to get a white controller. Don't actually need the console itself but it can go upstairs or be a spare. But then Black Friday and the XBX are both just around the corner…
I'm stuck on taking it with Black Friday around the corner as well. Thinking I might grab this if I can find some JB gift cards on special as people are selling xbox ones on gumtree for more than this which is funny. So if a better deal comes along this month can sell on gumtree and buy again.

I went to pickup mine today, to my surprise I actually got three games Assassins Creed Origins, Rainbow Six Siege(Download Codes) & COD WW2(Hard Copy). First I thought it was a mistake but I bought two bundles and both had them.
Wow, this is crazy. I'd take this in a heartbeat but I have the base XBOX. I think I'll wait until I can afford the XBOX ONE X and a decent 4k monitor/TV before upgrading it…unless someone wants to buy it off me ;)
