  My Zhiyun Smooth Q tilts just off horizontal, so none of my videos are perfectly level. Have tried with a small phone, big phone. I've been through the calibration routine twice, and used the adjustable screw out section at all possible lengths.

  Has anyone else had this issue? It's a showstopper for me. Otherwise, it's an amazing device.

    When I use LG v20, I have to take it out of the poetic case for it to be horizontal. It's 5.7 inch and the case makes it slightly too long to be balanced.
    Other than that, no issues though.
    What phone you using normally?

      Ha wow. I have the V20 in a Poetic case. I too take it out of the case. I even tried it on my wife's G6, and it still sits slightly low at the gimbal end.

    So long as you are able to balance the phone when the device is off there should be no problem. Have used with S7. Loaned it to friend with iPhone6+ who didn't listen to instruction and did not level and he was not able to get good video. And motors got very hot trying to keep the thing level. Second time around he leveled and now he's bought one.

    I first used it straight out of the box then I thought I would fine tune it with the calibration routine from the PC that uses (i think) the 6 calibration positions. Actually made it worse. Went back to the default calibration which is a single position calibration - takes about 20 seconds - works well again.
