OK, not a band to everyone's taste but…
During each day of November you can download a free live track by the Grateful Dead during the "30 Days of Dead" celebration (320kbps MP3s and DRM-free). Tracks are from throughout their extensive career and are usually lengthy. In addition, the quality is excellent and they have been selected by Grateful Dead archivist and producer David Lemieux. Only downside for me is the lack of ID3 tags in any of the files but you can always edit those yourself.
Tip - If you miss a day you can still download it or just wait until the end of the month and download them all as a single ZIP archive.
Yes, I know you can go to archive.org and find thousands of free tracks there but many are streaming only or poor sound quality (audience recordings rather than soundboard recordings). I prefer the curated approach where the selection may be smaller but the quality is guaranteed, hence this post.
BTW, I first posted this as a deal back in 2011 (there are different tracks each year). You do a Google search for "30 days of dead 2011" or 2012, 2013 etc. and get previous years as a single ZIP archive.
Yeah, it's lost on me. But then again I'm not a 70yo white dude.
