  • Is this specific to this store? Or available nationwide?

  • Is there much out there that uses SD cards these days?

    • +4

Well.. every digital camera that isn't a GoPro-style or pro-level DSLR uses one. Consumer DSLRs, the Sony mirrorless cameras, micro 4/3rds etc all use SD cards.

      • +1

Even the pro DSLRs use SD now. The later 5D's have CF+SD; the D850 has CF+SD; the A9 takes SD (and MS if you can find one of those).

      • Oh yeah, forgot about DSLRs. Mine uses dual CFs.

  • +2

Careful though, it is a relatively slow card.

    Max. Read Speed: 45 MB/s
    Max. Write Speed: 20 MB/s

    • +2

Plenty fast enough for non-pro DSLRs for taking photos and don't really care about video.

      • +2

It should work fine for full HD video and consumer 4K devices too. 20MB/s is about 160Mbps. Consumer FHD is usually up to 27Mbps. 4K usually up to around 60Mbps.

        • +1

Correct. The read and write speed of this card is actually similar to the popular Samsung EVO micro SD card which I have used to shoot 60Mbps video on my Phantom 3 drone.

      • Yep, should work fine on devices. I just find it annoying moving large amounts to the computer at that speed.

  • Still $6 in Perth in Woolies (if you can find stock).
