Data Recovery Service in Melbourne?

Hi All -

Has anyone used a professional data recovery service in Melbourne? If yes,
* which one did you use?
* how much did it cost you?
* Was your experience positive?

I want to recover data from an android phone which is stuck in a boot loop. I had made a related post in the Mobile category but did not get inputs, so posting it here. Thanks much.

  • I believe you would have to post your device to them and although they may be expensive for an individual (depending on how you value your data), I would recommend Kroll - https://www.ontrackdatarecovery.com.au/services/data-recover…

    They appear to do a free online quote, worth trying to get a guide. They are experts in their field so I would expect the price to be quite high along with a strong chance of recovery.

    • Thanks. I will give them a call. The prices seem reasonable in comparison to the ones in Melbourne. I went to Technetics who quoted me $900+GST with a 50% chance of recovery. Have you used Kroll before?

    • Hi Cyssero -

      I wanted to thank you for suggesting Ontrack data recovery. They were able to recover all my data from the phone, and my phone is working too. Couldn't be happier. I dropped my phone at their drop location in Melbourne, and they kept me posted at all times. Their portal provided updates at all stages and also the list of files recovered. Sent back the recovered data in a 1TB WD passport hard drive with overnight shipping. Really really professional. The cost was reasonable too($500).

      Thank you so much once again. Cheers

      Sid

      • Hey Sid! This is really good news, I'm very pleased to hear. I have used Kroll before for other types of recovery and have had very similar experiences to you - highly professional, good updates. I'm actually surprised the cost wasn't too bad either.

        Some other data recovery companies will actually have an arrangement with Kroll if they can't themselves perform the recovery. They're a huge brand with a good reputation for a reason. Thanks for letting me know how it went!

        • Thanks man. Take care!
