Good news, from 30 October 2017 Optus is permanently increasing the standard data inclusions on the Optus Prepaid Mobile Broadband plan.

    This belongs in the forums.

It's just an announcement, not a bargain.

    • Happy to have it moved to the forums, the bonus 5GB of data isn't permanent and ends on 4th of Feb not sure if that makes a difference.

the bonus 5GB of data isn't permanent

maybe update the title then so it doesn't read like just a change to their normal offering.

  • I heard for $30 per month, you can get 15g data, unlimited talk/sms, on postpaid sim only plan

30 days expiry … glad they came back from that 28 days nonsense

    • It still shows as 28 days on the website?

Edit: Was looking at the wrong thing.

Just signed up to the $30 sim only plan yesterday after Telstra got rid of carrier billing for Google Play. Telstra in my area only gave around 7Mbps download speed while i have achieved speeds of over 150Mbps(!) on my wife's Optus phone.

    Previously $40 Telstra with 6GB data (3+3)
Now $30 Optus with 15GB data with killer speeds.

    Adios Telstra!

  • Ovo has 100gb for $69.95 prepaid. Uses the Optus network. Might be good for people looking for higher data limits

Be careful the $130 recharge is no longer valid for 2 years.
Also note if you already have an account you probably have to change plan/offer BEFORE getting the new rates and optus use almost the same name.

  • They halved my data plans allowance last month , so
Optus can kiss my shiny metal ass!

  • $30 Optus prepaid Ultimate Plan comes with 10GB Data (3GB+7GB one time bonus) ,10GB Netflix streaming and Data free music streaming.

    • The Ultimate is prepaid mobile phone plan, mine is prepaid mobile broadband so not really comparing apples with apples.
