Brembo Brakes for VW Scirocco

It's time to replace brake pads on my Scirocco R and I was thinking maybe to get better brakes as well. Would anyone recommend where I can purchase and install Brembo kit and what would be the cost? Thanks!

  • Does your car have brembo calipers?then yes not otherwise.also lots of fakes sold on bbay. Bendix is good enough for road use

  • Are you planning on tracking it or at least hard mountain runs? If not, then your really just wasting money. Brake kits aren't cheap unless its spare change for you.
Does it have to be brembos and no alternative brands like AP racing, REVo etc?

  • Knowing where you're located would probably help if you're asking for recommendations……

wouldn't limit yourself to only brembos, but the concept would be going for a big brake kit upgrade… and like others have said, where are you located and what are you looking for?
a lot of the bbk would be custom kits - aka expensive

more often than not just pads upgrade would more than do the job - i choose endless personally

  • Do you find the factory brakes do not perform as well as you would like? If no then upgrading is probably a waste of money.

Will you be upgrading the whole brake setup as in Rotors, Pads and Lines?
    Are you set on Brembos?
There are other great brands out there which perform as good as or better depending on combination.
I have VW Golf R32, i have DBA T2 Slotted Rotors and Remsa Pads, which perform extremely well. I bought them from Brakes Direct(www.brakesdirect.com.au) who were really good with advise and delivery(as they are located in QLD, i am in VIC).

My advise is not to restrict yourself to a brand, jump on to forums and facebook pages to see other Scirocco's owners say and what their experiences have been.

    • How are you finding the Remsa for dust? I have heard either Remsa, Forza or the ATE Ceramics for less dust on VAG cars.

Brake dust, not a whole lot better than stock. 85-90% of dust compared to stock pads. But grip is awesome and need to remember the rotors are now slotted, so i am happy to deal with the dust. Ive heard that ATE ceramic are better for less brake dust. I am not sure about Forza.

        • I drive a Mazda 3 MPS, 11 year old car and haven't upgraded the rotors (they're well overdue though).

Many fellow MPS drivers swear by the DBA T2 slotted rotors, even the basic DBA rotors! The cross-drilled aren't as popular. Pads are usually Remsa or the likes.

I give a thumbs up to DBA rotors anyday!
