WoW Cataclysm Pre-Order $38 from Harvey Norman

260

Just saw this in the Harvey Norman catalogue. World of Warcraft - Cataclysm expansion for $38 (pre-order). Seems to be cheaper than any price I've seen so far.

Update: I've noticed a number of people have had to point out the online catalog to get the price of $38. It is actually on the printed catalog, so just pick one up from the stand at the entrance and show it to them.

  • Sweet, I wanted a box to go with the rest of mine, $2 cheaper than the digital option (unless the AUD keeps going up).

    • If it does, it's still better to buy the copy as downloading the game will cost you QUOTA

      • Not for us. Unlimited off-peak. 75GB peak is plenty anyway for games updates.

      • 8if you are playing atm you have a lot of it already (the 4gb 4.0.1 patch)

  • dam should have waited. preordered from game already.

Very good price ~$20 off the aus rrp

Just when I thought I was out… they pull me back in.

    • haha, i havent played in a while but for $38 why the hell not.

    another year shaved off….

  • Are there any cheap places to pre-order the Collector's Edition?

    • tbh I think you may have left this a little late.
You probably wont get it "cheap" from any where seeing as the demand is usually pretty high and pre orders started months ago.
      GL.

      • I believe all collector's editions are spoken for by now. However, I will be hawking mine off on the night since I quit a couple months ago and quite like having friends again.

Wonder how much people will pay for it?

  • Comments like these always make me glad that I never got into WoW.

Its just another game dude. I dont know why it gets such a bad rap, the friends of mine who game far too much are the ones into FPS - but WoW always gets singled out. An addictive personality is an addictive personality.

WoW is crap….CoD is better :D

  • Exactly right I enjoy WoW but do not play every waking hour…I do not know how some people come addicted to the thing but meh.

This is a good price. The expansions drop down to $10 each a year after release so im happy wont have to pay $60 straight up :).

  • Thanks for this! Just pre-ordered. On their site it has it for $59 and I had to point them to the catalogue on the website.

    • yeah, looks like someone hasn't been doing their job.

  • Great price! Thanks :)

  • no midnight release though right?

Wondering exactly what time you’ll be able to begin playing your goblin or worgen or making your way to level 85? On all North American realms, World of Warcraft players who upgrade to Cataclysm will be able to begin experiencing the new content at 12 a.m. Pacific Standard Time (3 a.m. Eastern Standard Time) on December 7, whether they purchase the digital download through Battle.net or buy a physical retail boxed version in stores. Players will not be able to access Cataclysm expansion content prior to 12 a.m. PST, regardless of how they upgrade or what time zone they’re located in.

so for us, if it gets released at 12am ADST on the 7th of Dec, we will be waiting around til 7pm ADST to play.
At this rate, a midnight launch on the 7th isnt going to be worth the effort.

  • Likewise, just pre-ordered through HN. Good deal. Had to tell staff of catalogue website.

    Thanks!

Pretty good deal, although I quit for more than a year… must not go back… remembering the days I had each of my characters complete all possible festival quests… life well wasted, but enjoyed lol~

Apparently a social life is worth -$38. Bargain.

  • Isn't it like $40 just getting it from Blizzard digitally?

    • yes - $US40 to do a direct upgrade.. and and extra 1.5% or so for your CC international conversion. If the $au keeps going up online might end up slightly cheaper, but hey if they are nearly the same price then buying locally helps spread the love around.

      • Maybe. Though buying digitally means you can have it all updated and ready for when it goes release: Where as pre-purchase means you have to install it on the day. Or something.

I'm one of those people who likes getting a physical product. In any case, Australians have to wait till 7pm on the release day to access the expansion content anyway (as mentioned in one of the previous comments). So you have a fair amount of time to set yourself up, if you're currently active in wow you should have the updates downloaded already.

  • USD$39.99 direct upgrade.

To those who say you want media: if you have been playing WoW, you'll probably have the update already.

I don't want media, I want the box to look pretty next to the previous 3.
