How much should I be paying for a second hand card?
By looking at online reviews and benchmarks, they seem on par with a GTX1070; does this still make them worthwhile to buy?
Thanks in advance

Uhhh wrong forum?
What moneybaby said. Some builders might want them for SLI gaming and such so I wouldn't try price them near a 1070.
As always check the competition and undercut. If the market is empty you can try for $600 maybe higher but you might be pushing it.
Market conditions will tell you roughly what you can get at that specific time.
Good luck in the AH (Auction House).
you buy or sell ?
if buy then wait 1070Ti
GTX 1070s are going for $470-$520, and are more power efficient than the 980ti plus have the advantage of the newer 'Pascal' architecture. If you were going to spend, say, $430 you'd be better off going for the 1070 or waiting for the 1070ti launch. If you can get a 980ti for $350-$380 which I occasionally see them sold for on BSS pages then go for it.
Ok, thanks a heap. With 1070ti coming out in a week (i think), do you think it will have any impact on 1070 prices?
They go for around $400-$480 on eBay and Gumtree, so I say anything below $450 is a decent deal.
The GTX 1070 seems to be around the same price range ($450-$500) for a used one, they're also more power efficient than a 980 Ti so I'd go with that instead. Although you should be cautious of 1070s that were used for cryptocurrency mining, they're more likely to have been abused and reducing their longevity.
