NEW Kenwood Ksense 4 Slice Toaster (Yellow or Blue Only) - $99 Pickup (+ $9 Delivery) @ 2nds World

20

These are normally priced at around $200 and I've never seen them on sale. The next cheapest price is at HN where they're currently on sale at $139 (they won't price match this as it's a clearance item). If you prefer the silver colour, that can be had even cheaper ($69) at Kenwood World (http://www.kenwoodworld.com/en-au/products/breakfast/toaster…).

This item is not a factory second as far as I can tell, it claims it's 'New run out' meaning it's just a clearance item that's EOL. Pickup is from 5 locations in NSW, or 1 one location in Southern Melbourne - otherwise shipping is only $9 with Australia Post (it's early enough, you should still get it before Christmas).

There are also plenty of nice features on this model for those that appreciate it. I realise most people on here will think this is a ridiculous price to pay for a toaster, but colourful appliances don't usually come cheap.

This is OzBargain. Why would anyone pay $99 for a toaster?

    • I agree, a toaster is one of those things that I just wouldn't spend more than $20 on. The requirements are just so basic.

This toaster automatically spreads smashed avo on your toast.

      Or at least, it better.

      • It goes to the shop to buy the avocado first…..I was in Woolies the other day and there was a line of them all waiting to be served.

        Took forever.

      • same goes for a kettle too.

i would pay more for oven toasters but

        • I've always bee interested in buying a more expensive as these have claims of "fast boil" etc.

Problem is I don't see how they do it, a cheap kettle is 2200-2400W, same as the expensive ones.

        • @samfisher5986: we tested the Breville The Crystal Clear kettle ~$100 vs kmart kettle ~$10 and it was a touch faster. same hotness. lol

          @limucat:

That kettle doesn't claim fast boiling though.

    Love this.

    • Before today I've never seen it on sale anywhere, and I've been watching the price every day for almost a year. Today it drops in price at 2 stores because it's just gone EOL.

Looks like there were sales on 3/6, 6/6, 9/8.

      • i use visualping to track prices. A lot easier than going to the same webpage every day to check lol

I'd rather go to Kmart and get one of these for $40 or less: http://www.kmart.com.au/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/SearchDisp…

Just because its cheaper than RRP, doesnt make it a good deal for what it does. A $99 toaster is ridiculous, and even more so when its on "sale" at that price.

Their toasters don't have the bagel function, I can see why its only worth $39.

You need to understand the capabilities of a toaster that has a bagel button.

    • I've had cheap toasters and they do the job, but once you've actually used a better one, it's hard to go back. I certainly wasn't going to buy a toaster costing more than $100 either, hence waiting for the price to drop.

  • Or get one from The Shaver Shop of all places…….Russell Hobbs 4 Slice Toaster with a 2 year warranty.

Not bad. Worth a post IMO.

I bought a Kogan toaster for $35 some time ago, and it's awesome. Toasts slower so that the bread gets evenly brown and crusty throughout, rather than only the outside while the inside is soft.

    • Russell hobbs is one of the cheapo brands. Not necessarily a problem, I've owned their stuff myself, but definitely not premium
