Trying to Change a Flight Booking with Virgin for Free - How Likely?

Hey Ozbargainers,

Quite a while ago I booked a return flight from Sydney to Perth with Virgin. It happens that I now need to change the date of the flight. However I was also sent an email advising me that the return leg (Perth to Sydney) has changed and will arrive later but only by 5 minutes.

Being an Ozbargainer, I wonder if I can capitalise on this and get the change done for free. I have been able to get flight refunds/changes for free when flights have changed but usually the change was more significant. Thoughts? The saving would be $60 + any potential change in flight cost, for one leg of the journey

    Fairly sure there needs to be a couple of hours difference for them to warrant a free flight change.

    I think it will all come down to the person you get on the phone. But overall I'd give it a 0.1/10 chance of working

    Try bribing the person on the phone in a subtle manner. Even if you offer them $50 in itunes vouchers which you buy through ozbargain links/cash rewards you will net $10 in savings at least. so in ozbargain fashion, give it a go!
