Best SIM-Only Options for Longest Activation Term (for Elderly Fall Alarm)

Per the title, I'm planning to buy a fall alert / help monitor pendant for a family member, but it requires a SIM. I don't think it uses data (but need to check), just uses it's GPS module and initiates a phone call & text messages if the alarm is activated.

Like this model, which includes a Telstra SIM & is locked to Telstra 850MHz:

Are there any 365-day annual plans or prepaid SIMs out there? if so, who's the best?

    Aldimobile $5 will last you a year on AYG.

      That sounds like a pretty good deal. AYG = Pay as you Go ?

      Does Telstra have an equivalent? The device linked above that's locked to Telstra is pretty good value…

        Yes, top up when you run low. $5 will get you about 40 calls or texts though. Aldimobile uses part of Telstra's network so the device might just work.

          Thanks heaps. I have messaged seller to find out if they know more.

          UPDATE: Seller says it should work with Aldi mobile, so I think I'm sold.

      if you recharge does it extend the expiry if my mum doesn't use the whole $5 before the 365 days?

        Yes but I think the minimum recharge is $15. You get to roll over your credit of course.
