Find Me a Bargain: Custom Built TV Unit

  Is the Ikea one close enough you could do an Ikea hack to it? We have had custom bookcases made in the past, but not laminated ones. Suggest google might be your friend.

      Yeah you take an IKEA product and modify it to what you want. We bought some IKEA struts, used our own shelves in a staggered offset manner and put some carpet on the shelves to make a cat scratching post and climbing platform. There are websites

  The words "custom-built" and "bargain" never go together.

  If you've got the handyman streak and you want a bargain, you could possibly get the Ikea one and modify it slightly yourself.

  I have no idea what kind of unit that you want. Can you maybe Google image search it then link it here?

  Otherwise gumtree and Facebook buy and sell groups or look craigslist.

    It says I want laminex cupboards. I’ve also listed a link of ikea’s option.
    Also, I want to be able to fit it in the area provided so that rules out gumtree and FB. Haven’t checked craigslist yet. Thanks will check it out

        I think its a top down view of the thing he needs built. 4.7m along the bottom edge and 2m along the left hand side with three rails/skinny shelves (coming around 1 - 1.3m out from the wall) next to where the TV will sit. I'm going to try and draw up some proper plans and see how much it would cost to make for them. it will look a bit strange, but if its what he wants and will work in the space it shouldn't take more than a couple of weeks to knock up.
