Great find! First time it hasn’t been RRP, aus stock as well.

    • First real deal for this one! Upvote from me

    • Bloody Kogan, I am trying to resell 10 Nintendo Classic systems on eBay for $250 and deals like this mean I will lose on my Broden this time.

  • +6

Great deal, love my mini SNES it's great fun to have on the TV when you got a few mates over and if anyone does not know it's extremely easy to 'mod' extra games on even from other systems (NES,SNES,GBA,Atari,N64,ect.) Only limitation is the small ~260mb storage space. More info on the sub-reddit for this specific subject: https://www.reddit.com/r/miniSNESmods/

      ^ 3rd comment.

  • What's the resell value on these?

    • have a look on Ebay - about $179

      • Plenty under 165. I don't understand why people bother. Take away postage and 13.5% final value and PayPal fees and make about $10 over $119 RRP. Well done.

  • -6

Sigh fine, I'll get the ball rolling. Ahem…. It's only 10% off why is this a bargain )

  • +2

    ……aaaaaand they're gone.

Broden was up early this morning - bought 10 in one transaction.

    • +1

So many people that bought between 8 and 10. Wow. The reselling is real…

Think I’ll just stick with my Raspberry Pi and this cool case…

      • what's the build quality like on that case, have been wanting to get something like that for a while

        • Don’t know yet. It’s on preorder. I’ll find out once it gets here… looks cool though.

  • Ohhh man just checking out and goneeeeeeee

Cex are buying these at $145. Buy a whole bunch and turn a $33.25 profit each.

        • @dabell: You just buy and sell on ebay ? Ebay is making money and you are spending time

        • -1

@regenade: eBay has been giving me free listings and no final value fees. (see previous ozb deals on these targeted ebay offer)

pretty good pocket money on the side.

        • @dabell: What about the Paypal fee of around 3.2% and you ship for $10. Still make $50 on each or even more ?

        • -1

@regenade: yeh around there. shipping is paid by the buyer.

  • Thanks OP! Ordered 2!

  • Bought mine from Big W a couple of days ago. Best buy 2017.

  • Actually a lot of fun, recommended.

  • OOS:(

To anyone who missed out, don't sweat it. I have one of these and was disappointed (and surprised) that the emulation wasn't that good and neither were the controllers, so I ended up buying a Buffalo SNES controller from ebay for $25 delivered and then installed the most accurate SNES software emulator you can get - Higan, which is free. It's a bit less convenient because it's not a dedicated box but the better feel of the games and the better emulation makes it overall better IMO.

    • Canoe (the name of the emulator Nintendo made for the SNES mini) is actually one of the best snes emulators you can find. There's only a few games that benefit from using a third party emulator, which you can add yourself with Hakchi2 if you can be bothered. Adding almost any SNES and NES games you want is easy with Hakchi2. And the controllers are good, they feel just like the originals to me. Only difference I can spot is there's no black paint on the L and R labels and the cable is much shorter, other than that I think it's the best SNES pad you'll find if you want it like the original. You can buy extender adapters. And the plastic casing of the console itself is very cool looking. Even if you don't hack it, the games it comes with are worth it. Works out to about $6 per game with included controllers (two of them!) and plug and play HDMI.

The emulation on Canoe really is quite good. If you spot any lag in games it's probably because it would have lagged on that same spot on a real SNES; Canoe emulates the SNES warts and all. With the included CRT filter, to my eyes anyway, it looks just like my old SNES did on a real CRT. I don't want to sound like a fanboy but most people wouldn't be able to tell the difference between cycle accurate higan emulation on a powerful computer and the emulation quality the SNES mini offers with Canoe. If one really cares about getting the original SNES experience and if they like modern conveniences too, then they can't do much better than the SNES mini. Definitely buy a whole bunch of controller extension cables though.

      • A couple days after first playing the SNES Classic Mini I double-checked by playing a few of the same games on my friend's real SNES and, in comparison, the emulation was off (on the Mini) as were the controllers, and on multiple games (Super Ghouls & Ghosts and Street Fighter 2 for example). The differences aren't subtle either, mainly to do with unresponsive controls or lag in games which doesn't exist on the real console. My 2c.

Can anyone recommend a cheap USB extender cable for this? Don't really want to pay $20 for a cable.

    • +1

There were some that got posted here a few weeks ago for a few $. Mine arrived earlier this week.

  • God damn it, I've been checking this site daily for the SNES, and everytime it gets posted I still manage to miss out.

FFS, I literally need to be checking hourly if I want to get one of these before Christmas.

    • +1

Set up an email alert so you don't need to be checking.

      • +1

Because it's part of the OzBargain experience!

    • +1

Why are you not refreshing every half hour? I do it every 15 minutes.

      • You mean you don't use an auto refresher browser plugin for ozbargain home page?

        • I'm old skool, yo. Plus, can't install plugins on work machines. :(

  • Gee this mob is useless - been trying for 24 hours to cancel with the via eBay message - and all I get is 1 message telling me that they are not in stock now and will have more later…. I know that, I bought 1 idiot and i'm asking you to cancel the order as I don't want to wait your stupid 2-3 weeks before you send it!!!! Trust another deal to come out today with stock that can be picked up!

    • Did you manage to cancel? I'm tempted to as well as I've got an email saying its going to be delayed a further 5 days

      • +1

Yeah they were terrible to deal with….wrote numerous messages and then they told me it was cancelled (but wasn’t) then ignored me for 4 days until I opened a PayPal dispute and 4 hours later they finally responded and cancelled - useless customer service - it’s pretty much a preorder and should be sold like that if they don’t have the stock for a month

        • Same story here, going to open a dispute tonight if they don't refund my order, already waited 2 weeks.

  • My order has finally shipped… almost 3 weeks from day of purchase.
