I'm sure they've done the economics and decided they make more money without it.
Same as Google phones… they would both rather you pay for more storage through them or use their paid cloud services.
Who is paying $45 for these? I bought one of these way back and literally used it once. Gave it away as a freebie when I sold my iPad on feeBay. Anything that it connects to is pretty much a frisbee these days.
Actually, feebay is having fee-free promotions atm. No listing or final value fees at all.
This is actually a handy device for connecting an older cheapo PC USB midi connector to say an ipad 3 or 4. I have a non apple camera connection kit which seems to have a few issues with iOS when connecting to my old 90's Roland digital piano, so this one might prove a little more reliable.
or a wireless headset that has a USB dongle like the PlayStation 3 ones :)
If you already have one of these, you could save up to $80 and buy this deal, rather than buying this and this, provided everything you buy is genuine Apple and not cheaper knock-offs on eBay.
Probably need to pay someone $10 to take this…. iPads that support this connection are very long in the tooth by now!
