Can I get a US passport if I buy a Qantas ticket? I hear they are a lot cheaper than the Aussie ones.

Passports are not the most expensive part of travelling.
We’ve been to the states a few times and, usually, the LAX border guards are a surly bunch of a holes. In my latest trip they were terrific. I wonder if it was because we were flying in from Europe. And trump is affecting tourism numbers from there.
I have a passport, but I do need wall climbing gear…
