Hi. Hyundai i30cw 2010. (no insurance). Has damage to rear door and back bumper. Have been told I can buy these parts from detailers and then get mechanic to install them. Looking to buy new Hyundai soon and get rid of this one. My question is, is it worth spending say a grand to then sell or trade in or leave as is? Thanks.
Help with Tarting Hyundai i30cw up for Sale

and the replacement of these parts would come up
Only if it's been written off, which it doesn't sound like it
Define no insurance, you mean it has no CTP i.e not registered? Good luck selling a car with no CTP as the buyer can't even legally test drive it.
Obviously they just mean no comprehensive insurance to fix it.
Not obvious to me; anything is possible on Ozbargain.
Thx for info. Really interesting.
Just buy some $10 cut and polish to rub any paint transfer out, and sell it with the dents for $500 cheaper.
This gives the buyer the option to fix it themselves, or save the cash if they DGAF.
7 years old and that sort of damage… I'd say fix it, but it depends on how good the job is done. If it's too cheap, it will show.
With damage like that it shows the car has been mistreated, and no one will pay you what it's worth. And don't expect much in the way of a trade value.
Yeah don't. Anyone who cares about the dents will get them fixed themselves.
I would put a toyota badge on it to increase the sale price
fill the petrol tank and double the value at the same time
check out wreckers.
ask if they'd install them for a fee (they'd probably have to remove them from the donor vehicle any way).
post a pic of the damage.
Most people will notice if you have a blue door on a white car. So be selective in your parts purchasing!
I meant wreckers instead of detailers. Doors are sold for about $250 in perfect condition. Just gotta wait for model. These are cars that are insurance write offs but can be still sold off as parts. The damage is significant to the eye, 2 big concave dents size of footy.
Shame cos car is in good nick asides.2 big concave dents size of footy.

I know nothing about cars so probably don't listen to me. But. If you spend money fixing it up, you will lose potential buyers who wouldn't care and just want a cheap working car. And, any buyers who do care will be asking for a full mechanic history of your vehicle, and the replacement of these parts would come up (assuming you don't hide it), and then you lose on the sorts of buyers you were hoping to attract (the ones that want a well-looked-after vehicle). If it were me I wouldn't. But maybe someone will tell you that the value will go way up, I don't know.
