280,000 Amex MR Points - how best to spend?

Hey guys,

I've amassed a lot of AMEX MR points and am looking to use them on an upcoming trip.

Unfortunately I'm very inexperienced with this - could I please get someone's help regarding the best use of my points?

    Amex Ascent or Gateway points?

    Where do you want to go, what do you want to do?

    Would recommend giving everyone some details of your travel plans if you want useful answers.

      Agreed. It largely depends on which places you'd like to visit, so the points can go to the best airline alliance.

        Go around the world for the same points or even less than a return flight

    Can use them on Amex travel to book hotels.

    If they are Ascent points (so 1:1 transfer to airlines), you would be able to fly Singapore First return depending on exactly where you are flying from and to. I'm happy for you to PM me details, for more tailored info.

    If you are able to organise it so that you are flying First Class Suites for a fair amount of the time, it would be a fantastic use of points, and you can book in additional stopovers for $100.

    I would consider doing a One World Award in business by transferring the points to Asia Miles (Cathay). Can then fly on pretty much all One World partners. Prices vary according to how many miles you will be flying, but should be around 200k AM points.

    Would you guys recommend doing a one world award over the Marriot Flights + nights package?
