Anyone know any good deals for a Galaxy S8? Either outright or a plan. Looking for atleast 15/20gb data if its on a plan. Best i can find is $100/month with Optus
Good Samsung Galaxy S8 plan or outright?
Comments
Always outright
No, that's not true. Often carriers subsidise phones and they are cheaper on plans.
I think it use to be like that back in the day. However the last few years at least, its been cheaper to buy the phone outright most of the time.
I got a Galaxy Tab A completely subsidised by Telstra last year. So it costs $15 a month, but includes 1.5gb of shared data. Total cost of the tablet is written off by Telstra. Stupid people are downvoting what I said. It's a fact.
Optus sim only plan with 15GB is $40 per month…
So… with that $100 per month plan, you'd be paying ~$60 per month for just the phone.
$60 x 24 = $1440.
Is this more expensive than the outright price of the phone? If so, buy outright.
A plan is almost always more expensive. You pay more for the device and you're also locked in for 24 months so can't move to take advantage of cheaper deals.
Yeah you guys are right. Id prefer to buy one outright but i have to pay out my current iphone which will cost $600 or so plus paying upfront for a Galaxy will end up being around $1700
But then atleast i wont be stuck in the same situation next timebuy the phone outright and put ur current SIM card in the S8
that is a very bad deal
You will be trapped with them for 24 months
