Telstra won’t honour the chat deal

Signed up to this $39 for 15gb telstra deal with Rahul on telstra chat promising a $10 discount and 5gb bonus. Telstra chat now say there is no record of this. I kept screen shots. Anyone else have this? What to do?

    I'd just try a new rep like you normally would if you couldn't get the deal in the first place.

    I swapped one phone over and then asked the rep to swap my other two but only one went through.

    I spoke to another rep who said they can't do it and I said they did it last time and politely asked to be transferred to a supervisor and she ended up putting me on the deal.

    $49 - 10 $39 per month with the 10GB + 5GB 15GB total data.

  • I have the same deal 39$ for 15Gb , 5GB from that being shared data. Not sure about the what can be done.

    The ombudsman would laugh at you

    • Why? Telstra will probs just give him the offer in the first stage as it's less of a hassle.

    • If that’s the case, there’s basically no recourse for anything - even the printed word.

  • Had a similar situation myself recently, lodge a (well worded) complaint through the website, you'd be surprised how effective it is.

    i take it you didnt let them sign you up during the chat process? if they offered the deal why are you not on it. i was signed up while chating to lady. i can guarantee. you said I'll let you know in a week

    Signed up at the time of chat, and told deal was applied.

    Complained to TIO, received a call promptly giving what was originally offered. They could have done it at the start, saved everyone some time!
