I'm looking at what the cheapest plan to get an Apple Watch 3 connected to LTE is. As far as I know, so far only Optus and Telstra have support for the eSIM, and then only on post-paid plans. They both charge $5/month on top of the regular plan price, does anyone know of any cheaper offers from Telstra or Optus than the ones listed below?
Optus $30 + $5 per month for 3GB on a 12 month contract
Telstra $39 + $5 per month for 2GB on a 12 month contract
That $18.75 price looks sweet, thanks @marzbar … although the comments about having trouble getting the billing right are not comforting. Fits my memories of last time I was on Optus. :/
They charge an extra $5 for eSIM?! what a scam!
In the US they charge $10 before fees and taxes, apparently more like $17.
Technically, it's actually a whole new mobile connection I believe, but yeah it's still a bit much. $1 would be nice.
So the $18.75 would get you a normal sim for your phone plus a esim ?

No, $18.75 is just the regular phone contract. It’s an extra $5 per month on top of that ($23.75 total per month) to have the watch use the same credit/data/minutes. It’s like those old data share sims but also with auto call/sms forwarding.
Optus currently have a pretty good deal that goes till 31st October.
$18.75 per month for 3GB on a 12 month contract. So $23.75/month including Apple Watch service.
$30 per month for 15GB on a 12 month contract. So $35/month including Apple Watch service.
