Final Fantasy XV (PS4) for $25 at EB Games

140

Looks like another Manager's Sale has started and the standout (in my opinion) is Final Fantasy XV for $25. For whatever reason, only the PS4 version is discounted.

Good price but this game is getting 2 season passes too (the first one is nearly finished), so if you want a complete edition I would just wait.

I would wait for the PC version.

The insane loading times has made this game unplayable for me.

      • how long are the wait times?

A good 2 minutes firing the game up. Then when you are trying to get your bearings again and fast warp places abut 1 minute each time. Means you really need 10 mintues to get back into the swing of it and before that happens I just have gone (profanity) it and moved to something else.

        • @kasp:
dam, i thought the wait times on wipeout on the vita were just as bad (or worst).

Has any of the season pass content been worth playing? It's all looked pretty weak, from reading the release notes

      • Well I havent played any either, I played through the game when it initially came out but will wait for all the DLC to come out before the second playthrough. Seems to be all standalone content that sort of but doesnt really supplement the main story. They should patch up the main game more so that the story is more coherent and you dont need to watch the boring movies to understand things.

In terms of second season pass I would hope they add more content to the endgame, a few more dungeons and secret bosses wouldn't hurt. Like it wasn't a bad game but in comparison to say persona 5 or xenoblade it was lacking.

      • DLC so far has been utter garbage. The game itself was mediocre too - garbled storyline, missing content, neutered combat - pretty disappointing after 10 years of development. Weakest entry in the main FF series.

          Worse than XIII?!

        • The story in XIII was a mess but at least the combat was halfway acceptable.

          There's nothing redeemable in XV.

    PC port release when

  • Damn bought this for $35 a few weeks ago and haven't even taken it out of the case

  • This game is $22 ps4 version and $28 xbone version @ CEX . (Pre-owned) .
CEX do tend to USUALLY, do better trade in values than Eb also . But they seem to be getting worse on their pricing. Ie. You can see online @ webuy.com what price they will 1.buy for cash. 2. Trade for store credit. 3. What they sell for . And they were buying for much closer to the sale price, early on when they started in Australia.

  • Btw. Friendly manager of my favourite local CEX (Also know as Entertainment Exchange) store, he used to manage an EB games store. He informed me of a very useful tip, when you look at a game and it is priced at $89.45 = $45 was sale price.
    99.30 = $30 was sale price.
Those last 2 numbers, is often the sale price when it goes on sale (as dollars).
I have noticed his tip to be true with many tittles observed, as you can clearly see $89.35 then the $35 sale tag stuck in middle.

  • I love the FF series but this one wasn't that great. I got most of the way through then it lost me.

The story wasn't anywhere near as cool as the others I've played (granted I only started playing at FF9).

Combat wasn't great either. They went from classic FF style to some dynamic one that didn't really work. It got to the point where your team mates just keep doing and don't take potions on their own, interrupting the flow.

Some really annoying aspects though (Prompto anyone?) But a decent game for $25.
