Was looking for a light weight laptop and came across this laptop in the Dell clearance section. Appears to be really good for what you're paying and the weight with touch screen is 1.29kg which is very light weight.

Read reviews saying that this laptop is good enough to run modeling software and most games.

Get this deal combined with a 20% eBay code and you're laughing. My guess is that this has been cheaper on their eBay store at some point.

Note, the new XPS 13 comes out in the new year and it's not just a processor and battery update this time. It looks like the biggest update in 3 years. Which still isn't massive but there should be some pretty cool updates.

    • Yup, the next gen processor is a Huge upgrade to the previous.

    • Damn that design looks way better! Wish I didnt have to buy a laptop before the end of this year

      • Its more or less the same design as the current model, just different colors.

        • Wow. What were they thinking with the white?! Hideous.

    • Whoa, nice.

I like that they will go to USB C power; that's a great upgrade for me. Soon, I'll be able to take one charger for laptop, phone, & Switch. Finally!

Wish they would put the webcam up top, at least this time it’s centered. Can’t believe they thought the logo was so important that the webcam should be in the bottom corner.

      • I've got one and the webcam is terrible! Worst placement ever.

      • This is just the old one with the 8th generation processor. This brand new designed one won't be fully revealed until CES in January.

        • oops didn't know there was a new design

  • No dedicated graphics so nothing too heavy.

    I think overpriced still

    • 100%, it's on average ~$900 more expensive over similarly specced and built Asus zenbooks (except for dat bezel), no idea why these get posted on OB so much.

  • Waiting fo the 8th gen intel processors apparently much more bang for your buck.

    • The Dell xps has 8th gen models out

  • Overpriced but decent product.

    • It picks up all the awards so it's doing something right. I had one but got the new HP X360 as a replacement. The Dell is much better. More solid, smaller, and has a better track pad. Plus the HP customer service is terrible. I'll be switching back to the Dell next year.

  • $1790 on dell factory outlet. Note the shorter warranty. From memory one of the descriptions they use will let you know which ones are change of mind returns (rather than refurbished)

    • You're looking at the 2 in 1 which is not the same. The original has a much better battery and processor.

  • Dell Australia has 20% off starting at 10am on ebay. Not sure if this is available on ebay.

  • I have the 6th Gen I7 with QHD its amazing !!!

  • Too much a price premium. I picked up Dell 13 Inspiron 7000 with i7 7500U, 16GB and 512GB SSD for $989 on Dell Outlet a few months back. This XPS is 2.5x times the price ! This time next year probably be able to pick up a Dell with 8th generation i7 8550U for similar price too :)

  • Jumped on Dell outlet chat last week:

    XPS 15 (9560)
    7th Generation Intel® Core™ i7 processor
    Windows 10 Home
    8GB Memory
    NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1050 with 4GB GDDR5
    256GB SSD
    FHD
    12 month Dell warranty
    from Dell Outlet
    Just under $1100

Seems like you are able to grab a fairly decently priced XPS - all about timing perhaps?
Unless it was a glitch in their system…
    Either way snapped it up.

Never seen it at that price. Probably a pricing error or a refurb model that is unbelievably dented especially for this gen of XPS 15.

  • how is screen display, or color accuracy, is it good for photo editing in terms of colors?

  • Steer clear of Dell. Specs may look good but wait til you try dealing with their warranty and escalatioon team. They've refused warranty service on my 9 month old XPS13 (9630).
