I was wondering whether I can use $200 Amex Platinum Edge travel credit to pay for its annual fee directly? Beside selling the credit here, are there any ways to use the credit if I don't travel in this year ?

Not to hijack the thread, but does anyone know if it is possible to change the card type from platinum edge > discovery easily? Or do you need to go through whole process of applying for new card?
whole new process.. can not switch just like that.
They will ask you to close this and apply new card.
I went from plat edge to discovery with just a phone call, no reapplication needed

They also offered I a special amex gold that was only for ex-plat edge holders, and I think the virgin velocity $0 fee one too
