I am travelling to Melbourne in a couple of weeks. considered many options but couldn't decide which one to take. Please suggest me an affordable hotel in Melbourne.
good hotel in Melbourne ??

I have just recently booked a few nights at Hotel Enterprize, which is in the CBD via www.not1night.com.au
I've not stayed there before, but it looks pretty good in the pictures, and it's affordable (in my opinion anyway).
stay at crown towers
How about Ashley Gardens BIG4 Holiday Village? I stayed there last time and happy with it. Just careful with the hotels in CBD they are quite noisy @night, you better do your research before you book!
http://ashley-gardens.vic.big4.com.au/Ibis Little Bourke and Travelodge Southbank are both reasonable (or at least were the last time I was there) and central, if that's what you're looking for. I can't recall having any noise complaints, either from me or about me ;-)
ah, don't know about affordable, but my favourite in town is the Westin (location +++), closely followed by Crown Towers.
I would definitely recommend the causeway 353 hotel. Very centrally located and convenient. My wife and I stayed there very recently for two nights and we loved it.
ibis melbourne in therry stret is pretty decent.
Any of the Ibis hotels are decent value if you book off lastminute/wotif. For romantic trips with the missus, I'd choose Grand Hotel Melbourne.
Have a look at the Docklands apartments as well. If you're travelling with a few people it could work out cheaper than multiple hotel rooms.
I was looking for 3 hotel rooms a few weekends ago and it was minimum $600/night in total for 3 rooms. So we decided to get a 3 bdr apartment for $480/night instead.
abbz0id: When I was looking for rooms, one of my colleagues told me to stay away from Hotel Enterprize… can't remember the reason, but I did heed his advice!
Too late now, it's been booked. I'm only there for 3 nights, so I'm sure I'll survive. But thanks anyway,
