[Android] Gentle Wakeup - Alarm Clock with True Sunrise - Free (Normally $6.99) @ Google Play Store

480

Wake up gently and refreshed every day
Turn your device into a sunrise simulator and wake up naturally by light. Light leads to biological processes in the body leaving the deep sleep phase and preparing for wake up.

You will have complete control over the wake up process
Start the sunrise 20 minutes before your desired wake-up time and define your personal brightness level at the end. Add slowly increasing sounds of birds twittering and add a device vibration as a backup 5 min after wake up time. Enjoy a nice morning show including weather forecast before you get out of bed.

Features:
- Alarm clock: Fully functional alarm clock with repeated alarms and snooze function.
- Gentle sounds: Wake up with different gentle sounds or your favorite music.
- Weather forecast: An animated weather show presents you the weather conditions and temperature for the day.
- Nightstand clock: Display shows current time and wake up time over night.
- True sunrise: The sun changes its colors from red to yellow like a real sunrise.
- Brightness adjustment: Brightness is adjusted smartly to not blend in the night.
- Individual wakeup: Get waked up without disturbing your partner.
- Easy and intuitive: All main functions can be accessed by symbols directly from the main screen.
- Soft torch light: Use the soft light to find something in the nighttime without waking up anyone else.
- Portrait and landscape: Your device can be placed in portrait or landscape mode on your nightstand.
- Autostart: The app starts automatically even if you close it. No additional battery consumption.
- Skip next alarm: Skip a repeating alarm in case you wake up earlier. No risk of forgetting to turn alarm on again.

Or set the bedside lamps to a timer like I do.
Phone screen light won't be bright/strong enough for it and you need to be facing the phone screen.

    • Do you use an actual timer to the lamp, or a high-tech lamp which has timer?

      • Actual timer.
Got them from Masters back in the days, digital with a little screen.
Sets the timer per day, so Monday to Friday, it's set 10 minutes before the alarm (alarm is a fail-safe) but 99% of the time I am awake from the lights.
Then it's set to turn the lights off after 30 minutes (enough time to get up, get changed etc)
Body wakes up on its own.

you need to be facing the phone screen

Good point. Probably not the best idea to have the phone so close to your head while sleeping.

Would be good if this app then gives me a boot in the arse to get out of the bed. Thanks.

Great app as I sleep with my VR goggles on.

I already have thing for that, it's called 'the sun'. Mind you, it's only analogue not digital and it doesn't work on a smartphone but I'm a bit retro in that way.

It doesn't work for me. By the time the sun goes over the mountain in front of my bedroom, I'm late for work :-(

  • I struggle to see how these 'free' apps are considered a bargain for the users..
In my opinion the majority I've seen are untested and still unfinished -definitely not ready for customers and therefore not a bargain for anyone other than the developer. They (the developers) are getting free testing from all of the users who thought they were downloading an app worthy of the retail price.
Perhaps these could be placed in a separate section.

I agree with you about some apps made free when they are untested and unfinished. However this one has been around for a while. Its free version has over 100,000 downloads. I would say that it has been well tested.

  • Cheers OP!

  • The app that pours ice water on your face works the best.

      That's not an app, it's a meme.
