how do we know these are "the best panels in the world"? every Solar installer says theirs are the best…..

    • Hi,

We recommend looking at articles such as this one

      https://cleantechnica.com/2016/02/24/trina-solar-remains-wor…

If you research manufacturers you will find a fair few lists naming the top producers

So you saying these panels are better than LG, Sunpower, REC, qcell and jinko?

        • In terms of tech they would probably be below LG, however they are almost half the price. As for the others, yes Trina are better.

          Nice like to sources?

Where does it claim to be best in the world? You should note that Puffery is not considered misleading.

      (no.1 Manufacturer in the world)

This is a claim related to market share and the OP has managed to substantiate that claim.

  • 5.9kW of panels but 5kW inverter?

    • +5

This is industry standard in order to get peak performance. You can read a full article about it here

      https://www.solarquotes.com.au/blog/oversizing-solar-arrays/

      • Thanks for the link - I have a 4kw inverter with 4.56kw of panels, and always wondered why they did it that way.

    • That's fine. It's the sharks that do it the other way around that you need to watch out for. They will advertise a "5KW System" with only 2kw of panels since mum and dad telstra investor will never know the difference.

  • How much extra for non-metro install (eg. 2hrs out of Perth)?

    • We charge $1 per km from our office in Greenwood to and from the job for installs outside the metro area.

        So $2 for installation?

How much for 3 phase, and is inverter internet connected?

    • Would also like to know 3 phase cost

      • what does that means ? whats difference does it makes having more phase ? would like to know please. thanks

        • Call them and ask for four phase, it is the latest technology.

        • If you have 3 phase service to your home then you will need a (more expensive) inverter that supports it.

Cost me $300 more for a 5kw system a couple of years ago.

    • 3 phase is around $300-400 extra. If you send me a message I can give you a quote.

  • Hmmm… does this system allow a battery hookup? (Powerwall or equivalent?) Also what is the current feed in tariff for Perth? Was it 7c per KW?

      7.135, yeah.

      • Thanks Coxymla, pretty sad since it used to be 40c.
        :\

        • Even sadder when you know they're paying solar owners 7c per unit then immediately charging other suckers 26.5c for that same unit.
I'm all for making money - but a 350% mark-up by a GTE is outrageous.

Please tell me where to get a free electricity grid?

Cause those powerlines and sub stations dont look cheap to me, create a deal if you can!

        • +1

@Hellman109: So, you've never seen a power bill?
The usage charge and the supply charge are two different charges. The daily supply charge addresses the cost of the infrastructure and people still have to pay it just to be connected, even if they aren't using any power.

I'll book you a flight with my Qantas points to come to Adelaide and install this at this price for me…Deal?

how much for equivalent in Vic Metro please? Anyone?

  • Hi rep, Noosa heads, Qld? Gonna watch this post and see what thoughts are as interested. Family of 2a + 2c.

  • Whirlpool had some comments on Trina panels recently - https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2671488

Not sure how reliable the comment is, but I would rather pay more for something that will last given solar has 5+ year payoffs

  • Growatt also has a similar problem, as the Growatt 5000MTL is also a 4,600 watt inverter. In this case they say it can be a 5,000 watts as an “option”. So I guess it all depends on if the employee who can count that high happens to be working on that particular day.

  • Hi Rep

just around the corner in Edgewater……
Not the best roof in the world, would one install panels 50/50 on roof and a colorbond patio? or is that a no?
Also, can you provide added electrical services, add power points etc?

    • Hi,

That shouldn't be a problem. If you call our office or send me a private message on here we can get a quote over to you.

  • Trina is high end.
    Growatt is low end.
Trina + Growatt = mid end
