    Excludes Weber of course.

    • The Good Guys 20% off on Ebay has the Weber Family Q. $147 off the price.

      • Problem is, only Barbeques Galore sell the Webers with the temp gauge (Q Premium).

      XD

    • +1

Do they even sell Weber anymore, now they have their 'own' Zeigler and Brown brand
Its not at any of my local ones

      • They wouldn't exclude a brand they no longer carry.

        • +2

true, but they no longer list any Weber products on their web site

      • Funnily enough, just checked the Weber website and BBQ Galore no longer listed as a supplier, so maybe you are right.

      • +1

Pretty sure they don't. One of the stores said the relationship went a bit sour for some reason.

  • is there a code? as the 20% does not come off at checkout.

this bbq was already $299 the past week and it is not reducing to $239

    • my bad discount only off full priced items

  • +4

Excludes - the good barbeques that people actually want to buy. Such as Weber.

    • Nope
Kamado Joe's are included and its a good saving :)

  • any discount on patio cart weber?

    • +1

Weber products are excluded, so no.

  • so many BBQs at a few '000 price. And even more on Gumtree and local FB groups for peanuts… inclining to later option.

  • Nice timing! - I have a regular gas BBQ for normal cooking, but want to start smoking some meat, and am eyeing off the Dragon Kamado, and the ProQ Frontier Elite. Anyone have thoughts on these two?

I have read a heap of stuff on the web but am confusing myself. Need to feed a family of 6 but regularly entertain more.

Pretty sure the Dragon wont be discounted further.

    • If its just smoking meat, the ProQ would be my pick
If it was one BBQ to do them all, I would pick the Kamado (recent Kamado Joe convert myself)

    • Also recommend the ProQ. During the 15-20% off ebay sales you can grab the elite reasonably cheap.
I use mine nearly every weekend since getting it. Doing some pork belly on Saturday.

    • Sounds like a ProQ is the way to go.

Seems that the Elite is out of stock. From my readings the regular Frontier is 'ok' but with thinner walls wont hold the heat as well. Any thoughts on this?

What else do I need besides some charcoal? I assume a proper thermometer. Any suggestions there?

      Thanks again

      • I assume a proper thermometer

        yeah, thats a start
I went cheap and got an Inkbird IBT-2X for ~$40 and it works well, as I couldnt justify dropping the $100+ for the known brands straight off

      • +1

I'm going the dragon since you can do pizza

      • +1

Dragon looked mighty tempting but ordered the proq and the inkbird thermo.

Now I just need some charcoal, hunk of meat, and and according to my wife a 'clue'. Too bad they are not on sale…

Im going to pull the trigger on Kamado Joe. For 3 people should I go with Joe Jr or Classic?

    • Classic…
      Way more versatility
Divide and Conquer setup is also great

      • won't be a waste of minimum charcoal requirement say if I'm just cooking 2 steak?

        • Uses barely any charcoal anyway… When you're done, close the vents, the rest you can use later.

With the divide and conquer setup, the classic gives you way more options like offset cooking, pizzas and much better for low and slow temps.

        • @SBOB:

          Cool thanks!

  • anyone able to recommend a cheap gas smoker? or am i dreaming and it's a waste of time ?

    eg: https://www.barbequesgalore.com.au/arrosto-gas-smoker ?

    • +1

if i was going a smoker it would either be

electric, for ease of use and rock steady temp control
      https://www.barbequesgalore.com.au/bradley-smoker-black-orig…

or something that uses charcoal, for the flavour and the real 'bbq' factor
      https://www.barbequesgalore.com.au/pro-q-frontier-elite-bbq-…

      • +1

        cheers for the input SBOB.

I'm going to end up jumping on a weber Q3200 SE @ $759 in the very near future so will try my hand at basic smoking first. i ended up pulling the impulse-pin on the Arrosto to see how it runs (don't drink and buy kids).

It's a basic stack smoker, so i figure will be better suited than than weber with smokers boxes.

If its no good I'm only $230 out of pocket and if I'm not doing it regularly the outlay isn't as killer.
If i enjoy it and see the shortfalls of the entry level smoker i'll sell it on to my mate who wants to give smoking a dabble and upgrade ! :)

        • +1

can never argue with an excuse to impulse buy bbq equipment
Thats how I ended up with a Kamado Joe last month :)

  • +1

Well I ended up ordering a classic II Kamado Joe in black. Didn't know delivery and installation costs another $140. lol

    • what installation?
putting it together is half the fun (assuming you have an extra set of hands to help)

      • My wife won't be able to lift this together with me, otherwise I'd skip the installation service.

        • The classic?
I think you would, as once all the firebox etc is out, it's not 'that' heavy.
But you'll soon forget the $ once you have some tasty BBQ :)

        • @SBOB:

Just called up and apparently it is for delivery not assembly, so I have to pay regardless

        • @djmm:

thats pretty harsh considering pretty much every one of them require delivery, should be included in KJ's pricing.

        • @SBOB:

it's a bloody heavy unit though.
