Looks like this is back. My rides are showing an expiry of 16-Oct so it could be finishing then, or you have 7 days to use your free rides once you sign up.
Have tried obike and Reddy Go. Readdy Go is easily the winner in Sydney if you've got any kind of hills to traverse, the bikes have 3 gears on them. Makes it a lot better. Even on the flat obike isn't great because I find that I spin out.
Helmets: All of the bikes I've seen have helmets attached, but I aint sharing lice and other diseases of the hair so I bring my own.
Deposit: No need to pay the membership $99 for the free rides. Not sure if a payment method is required, but I added my card as a payment option. I'm not sure if the membership is required at all actually, I'll let you know when I've used the last of my free rides.
Some things to watch out for
- make sure you lock your bike when you're finished.
- the bikes are pretty squirmy on uneven surfaces. I think this is due to the puncture proof rubber tyres.
- the bikes aren't overly stable at speed. Combined with the squirmy tyres and you need to take it pretty easy on corners.
- most drivers in Sydney are nice, but some are Karmichael Hunts. Look after yourself out there.
Many thanks to the OP for the original deal, figured it was worth checking to see if it was available again.
