Are they even any good? 430 bucks for headphones puts them in competition with some really good cans

Review from Techradar. Looks like a very new product though I'm personally unsure whether the bag of tricks these headphones provide justify the high MSRP.

proprietary charging cable is a little obnoxious. my Bose QC's charges using standard micro USB and so do my phones and powerbank, not sure I'd want to pack moar cables when I go out commuting.

    • I remember thinking it was a pretty cool concept when it came out as a Kickstarter project.

Was just reading the techradar review too. Interesting that they say that the sound personalisation may not result in such a big difference (depending on the person). From Techradar: "It’s hard to know exactly how much of a benefit Nura’s much-hyped sound personalisation technology makes. Certainly, if you ears deviate a lot from the average person’s then you might find it makes a huge difference, but in our tests it only seemed to make a subtle difference for most people."

      • Yeh. I thought it was a cool idea too except "sound personalisation" might just be another phrase for "find the right headphone for you without having to try and we'll make you pay more for doing so"

A little annoying being a kickstarter backer and closest to melb many are still awaiting for a date when our one will be sent.

There should be a disclaimer/warning here that says….

Nura team have guaranteed that all future sales to the public will only be sent once ALL backers have received their headphones…

At this going rate for others.. how long is a piece of string?

Interesting/novel concept but it feels like a huge risk paying $430 for an unknown product from an unknown brand when there are many proven products at that price point that include active noise cancelling (I note these Nura phones are not noise-cancelling). Reminds me of the recent Facebook advertising for the "Nakamichi" Edge headphones (which bears the famous name but has no relation to the famous Japanese brand) that used tech gadget sites to review their product. Again, all the hype quotes here are from tech websites rather than hi-fi/audio/headphone websites. If they're really that good guys, please ask some reviewers with credibility to review them. That's the best way to sell a new product like this.

  • wait for $249.20 Shipped

  • For some reason I feel like these are more 'tech' headphones rather than timeless 'audio' headphones, and so are more likely to seriously drop in price over time (compared to a good pair of sennheisers or similar).

Curious to see if it's possible to reverse engineer the audio profile to get a perfect EQ setting for my in-ears :P
