Motorola MOTO G5 Plus not able to be delivered by The Good Guys - out of stock

I bought the Moto G5 Plus phone from Goodguys on ebay during the recent sale. Got a call from them today stating they cannot supply it as they have no stock. When I bought it they still had tonnes of these phones listed, so I feel that they should supply it. I subsequently then also bought a case and screen protector.

My message to the Good Guys via ebay: Just wanted to tell you that I am extremely disappointed that my order is being cancelled due to no stock being available. At the time of my purchase you still had many of these units advertised on ebay and I got in well ahead of others. I have also purchased the phone case and phone screen protector, so now I am out of pocket through no fault of my own…

In summary, does anyone know where I can buy a Moto G5 Plus cheaply, so I don't waste my phone case and protectors? Thanks

Would you settle for the non-plus?

    • screen protector & case fit non-plus ?

      • No, the G5 and G5+ are physically different sizes.

  • I bought one of these yesterday.
I missed out on the click and collect ones - so had to pay for the $8 postage.
When we got the email confirmation this morning, turns out it is coming from a local Good Guys place anyway! We could have picked it up ourselves and saved $8.
    Disappointing.

    • Yes, I paid the $8 for delivery as well. I really wanted the Plus

      • Wait for a better deal and look for the PLUS version with 4GB RAM. The biggest disappointment however, is that it does not have a compass sensor, which this phone is only good for occasional GPS usage.

        • Seriously?

GPS use bears no relationship to whether you have a compass or not, there is nothing to stop you using this phone for navigation (all cheap SatNav units don't have a compass), logging your trips, or anything else that requires a GPS. I use mine constantly for logging and occasionally for navigation.

You'll get a compass direction within seconds of moving with GPS.

A compass is only useful if you want to know what direction you're facing while stationary or if you like having a bearing added to photo EXIF.

        • @4wd:

I am serious. Get a GPS enabled phone without a compass and you can tell the difference. Especially when you had a wrong guess of the direction before the "dot" becomes an arorw in Google Maps or if you are walking using the GPS. Good luck if you do hundreds of trips per week~~

  • $281.01 Delivered at Mobileciti eBay with P5OZZIE code or $284.05 Delivered at Officeworks eBay with P5OZZIE code is all that is around at the moment. About $40 more expensive, or you could hold out for a better deal.

  • I got one coming, if you interested please send me a message.

I ordered one, but there were non in stock anywhere in sydney, and couldnt tell me when there would be some, if at all as they are obsolete stock!
    So I cancelled.
The shipment was from a store an hour away rather than 5 mins away where i could pick it up!! so also had to pay $8
Adding insult to injury my local JB HiFi is next door to TGG and had them in stock, but they wouldnt allow me to pick one up from there!!
    And JB HiFi own TGGs.
4 hours of trouble and phone calls to save $50,and then get no where wasn't worth it.
I dont understand why TGG play games like this, and even why they bother to use ebay when they have a TGG Online site ???
