This is only a few dollars cheaper than some other places where you don't need to "like" a Facebook page - wouldn't call it a bargain.

    • +1

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Would you be able to give some examples of those places here?

Apart from the extra bit of saving, le Domaine also offers a 365 days money back guarantee policy where you can return your items should you change your mind after purchase.

We respect everyone's priority of money/effort and let users decide openly whether this is a worthwhile bargain for them.

achak - will you be increasing the price on November 1st?

    • -1

no, the $611 promotion will continue until 22nd Dec. feel free to see the price increase in action before coming back to this deal.

  • +1

Why is this nearly double the price of America?

    • Why are noodles so cheap in Asia?

Unfortunately even the same products will have different distribution prices in different countries (logistics, import tax, etc). Also keep in mind that that you cannot take an American model back to Australia distributors for warranty claims should there be any manufacturing defects within warranty period.

Think of it as having the luxury of accessing the product while still being able to enjoy a great country =)

      • We live in a good country so we should just accept that prices are double? Rrrrright.

        • I wish this wasn't the case either, but might help accept the fact a bit better.
Any suggestions on solutions would be greatly appreciated and suggested to our suppliers.

      • Their prices here are more than doubled those in the US thanks to a distribution monopoly by Peter McInnes. This is simply outrageous, even when the cost of importing, GST and warranty provision all have been accounted for.

Consumers here should flatly refuse to pay these exorbitant prices and buy from a US retailer such as
        http://www.220-electronics.com/Kitchenaid_Mixer_220_volts/Ki…

They are currently on sale on at 220-electronics at $349 + $125 shipping cost. No AUS warranty but one year parts replacement warranty by the supplier.

These guys have it for $579.95 inc free shipping

    http://www.appliancesurplus.com.au/kitchen-aid/artisian-stan…

These guys have it for $590 with unknown shipping

    http://hospitalitysuperstore.com.au/categories.asp?cID=520

I'm not going to neg this deal though, negative votes are not allowed on Ozbargain. I bet Pete won't retract my unjustified positive vote!

    • hospitalitysuperstore.com.au - $590 is exclusive of GST, meaning it's $649 inc GST.

appliancesurplus.com.au - Thanks for raising this, I will not rule out completely that this might also be a great deal. One thing I want to raise to users' attention though is that we have seen retailers who sell refurbished/overseas/second-hand models (not saying those 2 websites are at all, just that I've really seen examples of these before), so it would be wise to confirm with each retailer where they source their products from and whether they are new models.

le Domaine is an official KitchenAid retailer recognised by the Australian KitchenAid distributor Peter McInnes, and users can contact them to verify this information. Our deal incorporates peace of mind of product authenticity, as well as 365 days money back refund for change of mind. It is up to users to determine whether these are important factors in their decision making.

    • $579.95 is cheaper and better than this deal

      Lazed - what a d u r.

Your negative votes get slammed because you cant seem to understand what constitutes a valid vote.

Now you go ahead and make a comment (apart from the stupid dig at me as a mod just doing my job) that is valid for voting negative. I even laugh as Sydguy votes negative and that stands. (why - he states why he is is voting negative and justifies it, IRONICALLY based on the information you supplied)

But of course being a victim takes class.

Very SIMPLE read the guidelines http://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:voting_guidelines and then vote accordingly. If you think you followed the guidelines and we remove it, go to the talk to the mod section of the forums and discuss it with us. Hey if we are wrong, we'll admit and apologise. But making comments in a thread that we may or may not see isn't the way to do it.

Positive VOTE revoked as you declared it "unjustified" Now stop being a D move on learn how to work with community rather than being a victim, work with the guidelines here that most people do, and then everyone can understand what people think is a deal and whats not. If not start your own site and set your own rules. Better still why not see if Scotty will make you a mod one day… cheers

      • ROFL. You are kidding right. Removing my positive vote because it's not valid?? Amazing. But if I go to an ebrooklet deal with borderline nudity in the deal listing, and vote positive with the comment 'only voting positive coz of the naked girl' then that's OK?

The other post you removed my neg for did not meet the deal listing rules. Which is a listing violation and worthy of a neg vote. It's all in the rules.

    • appliancesurplus have not been getting good feedback in some forums.

they arent official kitchenaid resellers either.

    • as well as 365 days money back refund for change of mind

      That is really generous!

Maybe the aussie retailers need to tell the suppliers they're shafting the aussie consumer on the prices for these things. Hell, Tv's, laptops and most other electronics etc aren't double their US counterparts price and yet we're supposed to just accept that Kitchenaid blenders for some reason are? Don;t get me wrong, this isn't a dig at your pricing, i'm well aware these things go for upwards of 600 here, just wondering why that needs to be the case.

    http://www.220-electronics.com/Kitchenaid_Mixer_220_volts/Ki…

$464 USD shipped at this website.
It's the 220 volt model so works perfect here and they even throw in an Aus plug adapter.
I ordered one and shipping took about 4 days and couldn't be happier.

    • OMG! Thats brilliant! I'm sorry but THIS is a bargain!
Now I just have to wait for the dollar to get to USD$1.2 and I'm there HAHAHAHA!

    • Did you have to ask for the plug to be included, or was that just a bonus they chucked in? The price is fantastic…so tempting…

      • These units will not be covered by the Australian warranty but 220-electronics have given them a one year parts replacement warranty and an adaptor plug.

i would like to see a better than 8$ bargain without this Facebook s**t

Sorry, have to put negative on this as well. It is not a deal when you can get much cheaper elsewhere as being pointed out by couple of user above.

There is increasing trend of rep using this website to get more exposure. It is ok, as long as the price they advertise is really cheap compare to their competition. If it is not, then it is simply just an advert to gain more attention, not to mention link to Facebook vote, etc.

  • Cheaper elsewhere as posted by jay723.

Thanks for everyone's comments, as you prob know I'm new to this and I've gained a better understanding of people's expectations on Ozbargain through this.

Out of curiosity, I'm just wondering whether users are concerned about product authenticity at all when looking for deals. Because if you read closely on each product comparison in the threads, users are not in fact comparing apples to apples:

appliancesurplus.com.au - as @Serpeant pointed out, they are not official KitchenAid resellers, I would recommend them for users who are not concerned with warranty issues and is willing to bear this risk

hospitalitysuperstore.com.au - the price suggested by @lazed is ex GST, it's in fact more expensive when comparing inc GST

220-electronics.com - prices are USD and models are from US. Sure they might work in Australia but these do not include Australian warranty, so same viewpoint as per appliancesurplus.com.au

DJ prices - the deal's price is cheaper when compared to DJ, so the argument should be that it's more convenient/less hassle to get from DJs as opposed to being "you can get much cheaper elsewhere".

It's analogous to suggesting you can get LV handbags from China for cheaper price, but is it really an LV handbag that you are getting? Of course, it's open for users to decide their priorities, but just want people to be aware about apples to apples comparison. The only legit comparison in my opinion is the David Jones deal because they are genuine Australian KitchenAid new models, and thus I respect that.

Anyhow, I sincerely thank everyone's comments here and hope that I can bring deals that can better match your expectation in the future.
