I want to play around with a Pi-Hole, yet every Aussie carrier is constantly out of stock and the shipping charges usually double the cost - anyone have a reliable source that will cost me less than $10 or so delivered?
Raspberry Pi Zero - Where Can I Get One That Costs a Reasonable Price Reliably in Australia?
Comments
The zero's just so much cheaper and all I want to do is make it a Pi-hole.
I already have the 3 and it's cool, but I can do so much more with it than that, seeiing as it's so much more expensive than the zero.
As for Wi-fi, I really don't need it in this instance.
How are you going to use it as a firewall if you have no networking?
USB to ethernet adapter was the plan
So you are looking at bypassing the <100Mbit of the inbuilt solutions? Might be worth looking at the Orange Pi Zero Plus, since you have to buy a card anyway. That has gigabit built in, and a claimed $15 price.

@sane: That looks interesting…looking into it now, thanks.
As for 100Mbit/Gigabit, I get 2.9 down…
EDIT: eh, US$15 + shipping and does not appear to be a genuine board.
Not sure if this is the cheapest but Core Electronics have them in stock and might be your best bet:
Pi Zero - $10.48 Delivered
Pi Zero W - $17.96 DeliveredHave purchased from them before and they ship quite fast (they ship from Australia)
Aw awesome - thanks for that, mate! :)
ask these guys if they have them . I just got a retropie kit, all good.
http://www.thepishop.com.au/Out of interest, if there were no production or shipping limits, how many Pi 0s would people buy? It's pretty amazing to be oversubscribed for such a long time.
Basically production of zeros fills in the gaps when they aren't doing 3s etc. So as long as demand for those holds up, zeros are in short supply.
I imagine the big one would be companies just wiping out stock as soon as it arrives not letting little old us have a look-in, hence the one limit per.
Heya, how has Pi Zero performed with pi-hole? Do you still use it?
I use it and its awesome
Pi Zero or Pi Zero W ?
Personally I'd be making sure I got the W, or maybe even just get the 3 - you know you can always use it for Kodi or Alexa or Google Assistant.
Might find this of use : http://www.thepilocator.com/
