180

All Australians encouraged to take part in second national Gone Fishing Day
Enjoy licence-free fishing on October 15

The special day will enable recreational fishers to cast a line, even if from a boat, without the need for a recreational fishing licence.
Recreational fishing rules such as bag boat, size and possession limits still apply as does existing recreational fishing closures, including the existing closure on fishing for example, in WA, pink snapper in the Cockburn and Warnbro sounds.

      What are you, vegetarian?

      • Vegan, actually :)

        • +3

You forgot to put ethical at the front.

        • When people look at someone cooking lamb chops on a BBQ, they usually salivate…
Do you salivate when see someone mowing a grass lawn?

        • @bob19: do you salivate when you see animals tasered or having their throats cut and being left to bleed out on the ground?

    • +2

Careful; all the "animal lovers" are gonna neg you into oblivion.

        I love animals

        In my stomach.

      • The cognitive dissonance is palpable.

Well, since eating meat kills far more plants then just eating plants, it would still be better to eat a plant-based diet.

But I'm sure you have many other irrational justifications to keep abusing and slaughtering animals :)

        • Here's one more justification for you:
We have to eat animals so they don't hurt plants :)

        • @bob19: you could at least put some effort into your trolling. 3/10 could do better

  • pink snapper in the Cockburn

That is what happens when you don't use the right line on your rod

    • Co-burn?

      Because that's how it's said ;)

      • Weird wonder how it got that pronunciation. When I was on holiday in London you get off the plane and jump on the tub which then regularly reads out reads out the this is a stopping all stations to "Cockfosters" and every-time it did you had giggles from all the Aussies on the train - because they pronounce it how it is spelled.

  • What the f? You need a licence to fish recreationally?

    • yes

      • Come to Qld, no license required year round :-)

    • If your in a boat.

      • and on land

      • you only dont need it if you are in the water because thats international water and there are no laws there.

What is acceptable or not, is usually a matter of cultural practice.

It is somehow acceptable to catch and kill fish, but not to catch and kill dogs, and not to have Roosters fight between each other.

It is all what we are be used to, nothing right or wrong about it.

    • +1

No I think it pretty clearly is wrong to kill animals in a painful way for sport, it's just accepted because it's "always been done".

      • Well isn't fishing also.

killing animals in a painful way for sport,

Might be sport for dudes with beer in their hand, but it's all the same.
