Ducted Reverse Cycle Air Conditioner Filter Media G3 rated $16.99 - $29.99 Delivered Aust. Wide / Add $1.99 for A Spline Roller

wheresjv

Hi everyone,

I thought it was about time to post another air conditioner filter media deal.

We have an abundance of stock of G3 Specification air con filter which is suited to any brand of domestic ducted air conditioner sold in Australia.
This is the woven polyester filter material found inside the return air grill of your ducted air con system (note this is not for split systems). G3 relates to the amount of dust retained in the filter and G2 and G3 are the commonly used filter types uses in Aussie air con systems (if you go to a G4 or higher grade of filter this can place additional stress on the fan motor, which isn't a good thing). G3 is the highest grade of commonly used filter, which is safe for all brands.

Summer is fast approaching and during the summer (and winter months) sales are strong, this time of year is our shoulder season and sales are pretty slow so I thought I'd get a few units moving by throwing up another Ozbargain deal.

Use the code: wheresjv for $10 off any air conditioner media filter in the Ozbargain section of our website.

Replacing your filter media is an easy DIY job for most people and the only tool you really need (which you may not already have - i'm assuming most people have a screwdriver and a knife) is a spline roller. If you haven't gone one, I've put a few up at a discount within the same Ozbargain section of the website at a reduced price to make your filter installation even easier.

It's hard to articulate the discount value of this offer as pricing of this product varies considerably (an air con tech may charge you $150 to replace a filter OR you can probably buy elsewhere online for 25-35% more than this deal but the quality of the filer you receive may be questionable.

The most commonly asked questions we get asked.

Can this filter be washed? - YES, it is washable
How long does this filter last? - We recommend cleaning every 3 months and replacing annually (however most people don't change it for 5-10 years)
Where is this filter made? - Australia
Do I get the frame or just the filter media? - Just the media, remove your existing media per the video contained on the website
Can I add a filter to my ducted gas heater which currently has no filter? No
How much is postage to XX ? - Free postage with tracking anywhere in Australia

So in short:
- Discounted G3 Air Con Filter Media to suit ducted air con systems
- Made in Australia
- Free Australia Post delivery with tracking
- Discounted spline roller tool available if you need it with any purchase http://acfilters.com.au/p/9279847/dual-wheel-plastic-spline-…

I want to buy this purely for the discount code

  • Make sure you guys ask around at your local AirCon Supplier before buying this; I took my frame to them and paid $25 for them to change it over for me… Way less hassle than DIYing and it was only a couple of bucks more than what I would have paid for the cheapest medium.

Sorry - should have mentioned in the listing we offer free fitting if you want it (and live in SA) - basically a 30 second job and saves us the postage costs of around $8 per item so happy to fit it up for free if you are in Adelaide, just PM for our details and to make a time to come in with your filter frame for a changeover.

Cheaper to buy via rsonline, with free shopping also.

$20 for enough to do 2 changes in my filters case.

You are comparing a Daewo Nuberia to an Audi Q5 - Of course we are bias towards our own product but I can see from the pics the quality of the filter on offer in this listing is not that same as what we sell.

      • You can tell that from a pic? Gets good reviews as an option on whirlpool.

Cant find a datasheet on yours though here is their one detailing class, pressure drop, dimensions etc etc
        http://docs-asia.electrocomponents.com/webdocs/14fd/0900766b…

        • I know where this filter comes from and how much it costs - it costs about 1/3rd of what we pay for the product we sell, so by all means if you want white, fluffy filter which will degrade after it is washed and will be permanently poo brown after one month please save the $3-4 and buy from those guys ;-)

        • @jason101:

sure…or you know… back up your claims with some data sheets or actual facts when claiming there's a difference between products.

But whatever, I'm not the rep trying to sell stuff.

        • @SBOB: I have a datasheet available if anyone wants one please pm me. Having sold this product for years there is allot in the look and feel. ie a fluffy product will degrade faster than one that is more felt like in its manufacturing as the fibers are looser. Also a white filter will appear brown very quickly where as a grey filter will age more gracefully. Yes there is science in air con filters but experience in dealing with them for years also makes picking a good from less good filter easy.

      • Don't forget for us filter is a filter, it filters dust.

        • There's different grading on every filters, typically they test how small particles can get through each filter at X velocity. Also the pattern of the material matters too. It matters more because it's a bitch to clean out the ducts on the air handling unit and the ducting…especially near the kitchen, where steam and oil particles tend to end up in there.

Thanks OP. Been on my list for a while.

  • Will the filter work for ducted heating system?

    • If the system was designed to have a filter (ie you are replacing a G2 or G3 polyester filter) YES - but most modern Gas ducted systems are not designed to have a filter fitted at all, the fan motor is not designed to pull air through a filter and fitting a filter will potentially damage your heating system.

  • Cheaper on ebay please check same people trying to ripoff ozbargainers
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Air-Con-Filter-Replacement-Materi…

    • Tough neg mate, I believe it may be in error, could you please consider revoking your neg if you agree.

The link points to G2 rated Filter media - the offer on Ozbargain is for the substantially better quality G3 product.

On a side note: The link posted is to one of our eBay listings so if anyone does want G2 please buy via the link provided by ozehunter ;-)

BTW: We are also running 20% off on our ebay listings for Air Con Filter (per the link above) - but I'm pretty sure I checked the pricing this morning and the Ozbargain offer for G3 is superior to eBay prices but happy to be held to account if I've missed something.

      • whats the difference between G2 and G3? your G2 listing on ebay says best quality? it means best quality is not the right statement?

        • The rating relates to the amount of dust retained by the filter when a certain volume of dust and air is passed through the filter. We use the best quality G2 we can source, but G3 is going to be better (as generally people want a filter to retain more dust and G3 retains more dust than G2).

You are comparing a price of G2 to G3 which in my opinion isn't really fair giving the deal a neg on an unfair basis. When I try to defend myself you are trying to call me out for unscrupulous business practices.

We've sold about 8,000 of these filters on eBay and a few thousand via our website and people seem pretty happy (in fact 100% happy) - perhaps cut me a break and troll another deal, its apparent this one is already dead in the water based on the comments and feedback received sales will be near zero, which is perhaps something for me to reflect and learn from.

        • @jason101: sorry mate take it easy we are not the experts thanks for the info

Is today get out of bed angry and nasty day ?

Seriously peeps this item costs $7.42 to post, about 20c in packing materials about $1 in processing fees.

So if you take your $16.99 filter subtract GST of say 50c, subtract postage of $7.42, subtract other fees the net to us is $7.87

For $7.87 we have to: Source the product, buy the product, transport the product, cut the product, pack the product, process the sale etc etc.

I'm not looking for sympathy as I am aware the only reason people come to Ozbargain is for cheap stuff - but I'm starting to think this community is turning a bit nasty.

    • The first few comments seem to set the tone. By then the rest of the viewers have already been "coloured" by what's been previously posted and it snowballs. The internet is a strange and fickle mistress.

  • Thanks for the post - great reminder to clean, I didn't even think of replacing it. Mine is probably 11 years old already with only 1 wash in the last 3.5 years. What size would you recommend if my frame is 38 x 88cm? Would 40cm wide be cutting it a bit fine? I had it in my cart to go and then i thought I better check.

    • Thanks for the question we always oversize our cuts so you get at least a 450mm wide cut if you purchase a 400x1000 filter. While the sale items are all pre-packed ready to go I will open and double check you get a good 43-45cm width if you order a 40cm wide filter. Thanks Jason

      • Thanks Jason. I'll give replacing it a go! My order number is 46622. I appreciate you checking the width for me

      • Received earlier this week. Seemed very nice quality, much better than the one i had. Followed the video guide today with no problem. Great result. Thanks

  • My order arrived today, which is good service considering I only ordered it on Sunday evening.

Quality looks good compared to the existing filter.

  • Hi OP, looks like a good deal to me. Are you able to add the G3 550 x 1150mm size to the sale? The ones listed are too short for my filter…
