[SA] Keepcup Med (340ml) + Standard McCafe Coffee for $9.95 @ Mcdonalds Trinity Gardens

80

I never walk into Maccas being a drive through whore but for some reason did this afternoon while in need of a caffeine fix (Trinity Gardens, SA) and noticed them selling Med (340ml) KeepCups for $9.95 (RRP:$16) that included a standard McCafe coffee (RRP:$4.20-$4.45).

So if you were already getting a coffee a KeepCup for $5.50 is a pretty….pretty….pretty good deal.

Apparently if you are a very organised, iron-your-t-shirt type operator you can bring it back when you purchase your next coffee they'll knock .50c off of the price.

I am assuming this is available in other stores, but unless visable from the drive through window, I'll never know.

Note: I am aware the colour combo is uglier than my ex girlfriends soul but it is all they offer unless you are after an all pink option.

Saw this months ago. Can’t handle the taste of coffee in this plastic rubbish!

    • I make my own nespresso and put it in a Large Keepcup every morning for my commute and do not notice any distinguishable taste difference from a mug.

The glass ones KeepCups are pretty decent - but agreed plastic ones are horrid.

  • Standard Mccafe coffee with horrid plastic keep cup which you have to buy $3.95.
7-11 coffee with disposable cup you don't have to carry around $1-$2 .

    Yay?

  • Is this nationwide?

  • It’s also available in Wodonga (Vic)

  • How do cafes that accept reusable cups even know how much to charge? There are presumably many different brands in different shapes and sizes (some of which are bound to not be in standard* sizes). Do baristas just estimate the nearest size?

    * There actually isn't even an industry standard on sizing

Because espresso based coffee is made to the size of the drink, not the size of the vessel.*

*proper coffee, made by a proper barista.

      • That makes sense - I always thought it was something like "espresso shot, eyeball the proportion of cup to be filled with milk and fill the rest with froth."

  • We bought McDonalds travel mugs years ago. If you take it back and reuse - you get a refill, which is a large, for the price of a standard. Combine that with the loyalty card discounts - buy 5 get one free works out for pretty good discounts over time if you like their coffee. We like to go there to have a coffee while the kids play.

  • Anyone seen this deal in Melbourne? I could do with a bigger keepcup.
