After the Air Fiji sale, I was checking into premium economy flights to the US and I found some very cheap Delta "Premium economy" tickets.
These are NOT on code share flights with AirNZ, only their own metal (777)
These are also listed if you search the IWTF
eg http://iwantthatflight.com.au/flight.ashx?&oc=SYD&dc=LAX&dd=…
I also found similar fares on Delta's website, however they are listed there as "comfort plus".
Delta's website they show this as better than economy, but not as good as their actual premium economy. (not available on these flights)
Looking at the Delta seat maps for the 777 they show the only seats are main cabin, comfortplus or business class. There are no other classes available.
Business is lay flat seats ($5-6K)
Comfort plus gives 3" of more legroom than main cabin, plus extra 50% recline, priority boarding, dedicated overhead locker, USB and full power outlet, and an amenities kit.
It isn't in a separate cabin, and the seats are 3X3X3 as the same main cabin, but its just over half the price of competing airlines premium economy and may just be that little bit more comfortable than economy. Sort of half way in between.
Maybe someone here has flown this class and can give some insight into the quality/price benefit.
Update - Found this review if anyone is interested
