Is there a webcam product (at least 720p) that you guys recommend?
I managed to get that Dell XPS8920 PC deal a while ago, but I realise I don't have a webcam for it!
I don't want to spend too much, but I understand quality might be $$.
And I keep seeing the Xiaomi Mifang camera thingo… I assume this won't work as a webcam (for video calls)?

I asked this exact same question in the latest Mifang deal. Scabs confirmed it can't. I really wanted it to.
That sucks. I mean it has the hardware for it.
Damn this was partly why I impulse bought one to experiment with the night vision/motion sensor and possibility of an external webcam (for my android tablet).
There's gotta be a fixaroo or hack or switch or something I'm sure of it clicks fingers

Definitely I'm sure it is just a matter of time till somebody hacks it. The tools and hardware is all there.
go for a proper webcam such as Logitech C920, C922 or C930e and you won't be disappointed.
Gifted my parents a c920 to skype my sister who works in the middle east and they are pretty happy with the image quality.
I can't see a way to do it with Xiaofang out of the box. There doesn't seem to be a way of getting a PC to interact with a xiaofang camera as a webcam, or even stream the video to somebody else on android device in it's un-hacked factory default config
Maybe some kind of 3rd party fang hack is required.
Can't see why they shouldn't.
